It was a large feline. (Very tigerish based on its head, but body wise it was more leopard, mainly it was able to scale large trees, plus they hunt in prides.) Trust me, I just got back from seeing it and it was great, its just unfortunate it didn't go into detail on the animals that inhabit there, but based on what I saw the animals didn't change that much except for a giant eagle and a 4 legged snake-like creature and highly toxic leaches. but the main antagonist was the Ursa (not a bear) it was a creature sent by some alien race (who were never shown) who were blind but could specifically smell the pheromone of fear in animals, but mainly in humans. |

Trust me, that didn't expose anything important to the story. |

There'll be no foot-walking! Just air-flying!

So you didn't see the movie, but said that the changes in the animals were too huge ?

Well, I didn't watch the movie too, but I know the eagle is quite huge, as there are trailers on the television. |

Size can easily change in a short period. Island evolution for instance. ![]() And I again refer to the elephants, those are huge changes Cliff swallows' wings have been shortening a lot for the past 30 years.People don't get that evolution can go quite quickly when the environment pressures them. We're part of the environment that puts huge pressure on these animals, so they have to adapt as quick as possible.

Okay I understand. But the eagle's beaks could already swallow a human head. And the human'swas about the size of it's claws, if I remember from the trailers. |

Well, the animals didn't seem implausible from what I've seen- They mostly still looked like earth creatures, although tigers and condors would both be extinct. I probably won't be able to watch this movie, but it looks interesting. |

Yes, but one of the animals I was referring to (from the trailers) was apparently not an Earth creature but an alien, which would explain it's radical appearance. |

It looks like critics are leaving bad reviews for the film. Its M. Night. Shamalama though. You think we could even trust him after he butchered The Last Airbender? I also heard a conspiracy/rumor that the film is a Pro-Scientology work. Lets hope not, because they're nuckin futs. Edited by Nemo, Jun 1 2013, 02:33 PM.

Well Will Smith belongs to the scientology church so it wouldn't be a surprise if it is. And i didn't remember that it was indeed a M. Night Shaymalan film, but his last 3 or 4 movies were terrible. He lost his touch after "The Village" if you ask me (and he completly destroyed "The Last Airbender" story )
