Have you tried this hack for birds? http://w11.zetaboards.com/Gaia/topic/7943043/1/#new it works on every bird that uses secretary anims. |

Oh, I definitely use it. I mean for Hendrix's new animation set, the birds don't fly very high. I didn't think the hack altered his.... o__O |

Be still my heart. That rosella. I just came back to the states from Australia and these are definitely one of my favorite birds, besides the yellow tail cockatoo. I was covered by them and lorikeets and a few sulfur cockies at one point and all of them were so BRIGHTLY red and blue with the black on them. Really made an impact, so I'm very excited to see you working on one! If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious if you might make variants for this fella. Like how the further north you go the coloration of these guys turn to yellow where there is red. I remember a local telling me that but then again that could be a whole different type of rosella as I think Eastern Rosellas are a different type than Crimson though related. You've got me all excited Mibound and into finally beginning to start projects of my own ;u;! That galah had me freaking out to, I love everything you do! |

Aw, thanks I'm aware of the other Rosella species, and while I don't have plans to make more in the immediate future, I routinely get bored with my plans and end up deviating along the way and making something just for the heck of it. I'll keep it in my periphery ![]() Glad you like the projects! Your trip to Australia sounds like so much fun!!!

Yeah my birds don't have a high flying set yet. However, I found this in the ambients: <BFBirdGroundFitComponent heightOffset="20" ignoreElevatedPath="false" minHeightOffset="15" desiredClimbRate="0.5" desiredDiveRate="2.0"/> Perhaps birds could be given a similar behavior...

Yeah, I remember tweaking that for my Rufous Hummingbird ambient. I wanted them a little higher off the ground than the default setting. It's an interesting idea, for sure. ![]() but if you ever get bored, a high flying animation set would be the best. thing. evar. |

Update! Still have some things to sort out: inside of the mouth, bottom of the feet, THAT TAIL. :C![]() Now off to bed! Yay, 4 days off! ![]() Edit: I've been getting a lot of PMs about "how I do my wings." These are black vulture wings with the color values changed, the wing shape changed, and some Aracari cover feathers thrown on top. Easy-peasy, though not exactly accurate XD CLOSE ENOUGH FOR GOVERNMENT WORK. |

Well, this is the first wing of yours that doesn't convince me. The middle is too obviously cloned. The problem can be solved when the individual portions of the wing (primaries, secondaries, tertiaries) and their respective coverts are stretched to fit the model. I set up the model so they all have separated planes, and the borders outline where the transitions should be.![]() I think it would improve it a lot if you made the primaries section almost two times its current size. ![]() Vulture was an unlucky decision, because as gliders, they have a very different wing structure from smaller birds that flap their wings ![]() Something like these would be much more suitable as a texture source, it just needs appropriate colors: ![]()

![]() New wings using Hendrix's references (combination of both). I do think they look a lot better, but I'm still not 100% satisfied with them. Practice makes perfect though, right? Spoiler: click to toggle
