I think the main issue is that the shells can be rather hard to texture (and sometimes to mesh too).

There are basically only 2 models to work with too (for those of us who can't mesh, anyway...)

Yeah, that's what I mean when I say there are basically 2 that can be used to make other turtles (if you can't mesh, like me). The Spurred has a shell profile that doesn't work for most other species. Same with the snapping turtle and mata mata model(s).

What about the baby model of the RR spurred tortoise, it looks more generic tortoise than the adult model.

Then again I don't know if it's PD either.

Also you're right, there does need to be more generic tortoise/turtle models.

That's probably something worth investigating, but for my purposes, the Hermann's tortoise model is acceptable. The shape isn't perfect, but it doesn't bother me enough to dig into the problem.

Update: I've got everyone in-game. None of the turtles based off the Chinese softshell seem to be laying eggs, but they're also not drinking water (which is probably because I didn't code them to use the food dishes... whoops). I made a few size tweaks once I had everyone lined up next to each other. Fair warning, the Desert Night Lizard and the toads are quite small, but that's the most realistic proportion for them compared to the other animals I've made.

As soon as I finish adjusting a few things, I'll have them all ready for download.

So... the turtles definitely don't lay eggs. A female was pregnant, built her nest... and then nothing. Also, they've stopped eating.

Looks like I'm going to have to at least use the updated files and hope that corrects some of the problems. Sigh.

Update: Switching it over made it worse, somehow. Now all they do is "going into water" and drink from the water dish. No eating, no other behaviors.

Dang it.

Update: Got it working! Breeding, eating, babies, the works. Now to update all the other turtles (I was testing on the Cooter).
