While I agree that the new version is nice, I think it lacks the realism that the "rougher" texture provides the first one. Maybe a soft overlay to help blend them together?

I would, but honestly, these birds are so small in-game that it's not worth the effort of adding a texture overlay as both lose a lot of the texture resolution once rendered in ZT2. I'm happy with the skin (I included the first as a variant), so I'm closing the book on this project for now. :)

This one also has a new sound file, with a real example of the Blue-bellied Roller's gutteral croak. Not as annoying as the Lilac-breasted Roller, but not very musical either... xD

No problem :) I'm working on the Chestnut-bellied Partridge right now... I planned to make the Blue-faced Honeyeater next, but I still don't have a good mesh for it. They're kind of corvid-shaped in the face, but their heads have a weird triangular shape that I just can't source a model for. I may use the Motmot model again and then update later when someone can alter a model for me.

Chestnut-bellied Partridge WIP!

Need to get Nils' permission to use the California Quail model, but here's a peek at the next part of this project. :)

Double-posting in my own topic. Whoops!

Weren't the quails released for the Marathon? If so i think one of the rules was that the animal had to be PD.

Yay! I'll carry-on with the variants then. I think the males and females are similar in this species. Not sure about the chicks...

Okay, so I'm testing the Partridge and I can see that Nils' Quail still has flight animations despite not having wings with which to fly. What do I have to remove or replace to change the flight animation into a walk animation or... just remove the flight behavior entirely?

Model is Nils' California Quail. I'm going to try to update it later to get rid of the little bob-doohickey on the head, because even though that entire section of the UV map is clear, there seems to be a (mostly) transparent shadow of it visible in-game (at certain angles). Baby models are from the Tragopan, and I re-used some of the Tragopan skin elements for the baby as well (beak and legs).

Fixed the wingless flight issue (god, that looked hilarious). New sounds added as well, and this time, they're actually kind of pretty! :D

Platypus isn't on my list (as I don't know of a PD model that would work for it and I'm not willing to tackle the problems with the existing one).

Next will probably be the Banded Broadbill. :)
