Welcome to my photo thread! There won't necessarily be any rhyme or reason to the photos I post here. I'm just going to show them as I take them and explain a little about each one. Currently I am using a Nikon Coolpic 4100 camera, which is fantastic for taking close-up shots, but almost incapable of taking long-distance shots as it has awful zoom capabilities. However, as soon as I can afford it I plan on purchasing a better camera so I can start taking photos of wild animals as opposed to just domestic (because you really can't take good photos of wild animals without being able to zoom. It's just impossible to get close enough). At the moment I only have a small collection of older photos to show, but I'll be going to a zoo at the end of the month for my birthday, so I'm going to try and get as many good photos a I can while I'm there. There's also a petting zoo/bird sanctuary that I visit occasionally, so I'll make sure to bring my camera the next time I visit and get some shots from there too. The petting zoo is full of baby animals right now, including a 5-day old cow calf, so you guys might get to see some really cute critters soon. So, for my first entry I'll show some photos from the horse farm that I visited during my first year of college. It was for a job-shadow, and the lady I was shadowing was nice enough to let me take as much video and photos as I wanted. (but, unfortunately, I ran out of time to take a lot of pictures, and only a few turned out decent in the end). This is one of the dogs that was there. He was just a baby still, but being a St. Bernard, he was a very big baby! Note: I did digitally edit this photo slightly to remove some grossness that was in his eyes, but besides that, the photo is unaltered. ![]() The snowy Canadian landscape. A beautiful backdrop for the farm. ![]() A couple of the horses in one of the outdoor paddocks. I wish I could remember their names. ![]() ![]() A couple of the other horses eating from their covered feeder.

Not at all! Everyone does. ![]() And thanks you two. ![]() This is a wild Northern Saw-whet owl that we captured during a college owl banding trip. There was a total of about five that got passed around before they were released back into the forest, and I was lucky enough to be one of the students who got to release one. It was really amazing. This photo was taken at a separate event; a bird of prey show that took place in our school gym. I forget which specie of owl this is, but he was a funny young one who refused to cooperate. In the end, he never flew for his food, he simply stared down his trainer, pooped on the floor, and squawked until he was given this tasty piece of meat. ![]()

Just because they're animals doesn't mean they can be any less sturbborn than us, I guess that's what they were teaching.

Lol, I guess so Azrael. ![]() This is my neighbors cat Scoopito in our backyard. ![]() And a friendly gray squirrel on our porch who was looking for peanuts. A good handful of them became really trusting when they learned we had food, and one even ate directly from our hands.

Thanks guys. ![]() @Franco: Yes I did. ![]() These are some photos I took at a small zoo called Safari Niagara. Unfortunately, this was before I got an SD card for my camera so I was limited to a mere 12 photos before I was full, and these are the only three exceptionally good photos I got. However, if anyone wants to see the rest then I'll certainly post them. If not, this might be the last update for a while until I can take more photos. This is the first Elk I've ever seen in real life. His antlers were incredible, as tall as me I think (although I'm rather short, 5"4', so maybe that's not saying much. )![]() This is some specie of gibbon. I forget what kind exactly (mbosc? ), but they were one of the most entertaining animals in the park that day. They were very friendly and curious of us, until the dominant male got angry at us for going near his females. ![]() ![]() And here's a portrait of one of the giraffes. Masai, I believe.
