What are the local names for the animals in your country? And i don't mean exact translations into your language but nicknames or common names used for name them in your region. Here are some of the names of some animals in argentina: Maned wolf: Aguará-guazú Southern Long-nosed Armadillo: mulita Pink fairy armadillo: pichi ciego Capybara: carpincho Giant armadillo: Tatú carreta Jaguar: Yaguareté Lowland tapir: anta Large hairy armadillo: peludo Upland goose: cauquén Southern screamer: chajá Those are the ones i can remember right now but there are plenty more. Many of these names came from common words that describe the animals or are aboriginal names. How about animals in your country? Do they have any particular name that people use to call them? |
