So, finally given a talk about chromosomes & dna replication today so I don't have anything really important to do... time for some skinning:

I like it, But i think you should work on the texture for the feathers. Here's a pic for reference:

(There's a also a part in the episode where Nigel catches a Mono and they examine it's feathers up close, if I could find a picture I would show you)

I'm just glad to see this topic reopened again. The mononykus skin look really nice, but i agree with DrHax about the feathers texture. Great job though and welcome back xD

Nice job DM, but I've got to agree with the others. With fluffy animals you don't have to show each feather, but for this kind of feathering you do. It was quite stringy in the programme and it just looks a little blurry here.

I gathered some printscreens from the show for you, and I think the head shape's a little wrong too.

I like the skin, but, as has been said, it is quite blurry ;) I recommend rhea or ostrich feathers here, they would work very well.

I've use emu texture there, maybe I'll overlay some more coarse feathers instead... Head shape was altered to match the skeletal more. ;)

Don't expect regular updates, though...

Actually, the texture is there, just cannot be seen in the overview as nifskope does its texture filtering...

and as you may have noticed i've given this one a bit more feathers than it had in the show, some alphas on the arm and the leg. ;)

Yeah, the texture's there :P but I'm not sure about the skull shape. I'm not sure what skeletal you looked at but we've only found partial skull remains for Mononykus, the complete skulls were reassigned to Shuvuuia

Generally Mononykus is thought to have a beak closer to Shuvuuia's length, so your's seems a little short.

That's kinda what I looked at IIRC, dunno why they have that short heads. Might as well make it longer then. xD

Ah lawd, those feathers are brilliant. Though I do have a question: Is that the reason why the Theri's texture looks cartoony and blurry in the render you showed?

How can a texture look cartoony? If you mean blurred, then yes. But that's always the case with nifskope shots because the texture is sized down as you move away. There's some filter which gives similiar effects as mipmaps and that comes from the graphics card.
