The best way to not get your heart broken, is pretending you don't have one.

I think the Alpha model looks good......But just to state the obvious, we can't prove if dinos had FEATHERS or not. |

Yes we can..... there are feathers impressions in the fossils. We even know what color some of them were. Heck, we even know that microraptor had glossy feathers |

Well, we can certainly prove that Velociraptor had feathers, but if you're just referring to dinosaurs in general, I have to agree. |

OK, then it must be a optical illusion, sorry. I guess it will be gone with the skin. @Guys: Could you please stop this feathers-no feathers argument here ? I think there is a topic in Nature section, so there is no need to fight here. Edited by philly, Nov 19 2013, 05:22 PM.

great job on the model, although the tail looks too thin compared to the rest of the body IMO. really curious about how you'll make the skin from the show fit this one. |

I would make the transition of feathering on the foot a little smoother and sorry for starting this feathers vs. no feathers in your topic. I can't wait to see the velo's skin! |

Great job on the Velociraptor so far, I can't wait to see more! Sorry to go back an animal but I was wondering if the toes will be longer for the Tarbosaurus? The last render made it look like it was standing on its tip-toes but that could very well just be the angle. Regardless, the Tarbosaurus still looks awesome as do the rest of the animals you've made so far, keep it up! |

Not saying it's bad but once its released can someone do reskins so that some animals get some form of feathers. This way there is less bickering in this topic and more showcasing of masterpieces. Also can the animals be more compatible with other biomes? I try to make mixed exhibits and the animals start flipping out. |

Yeah, I've noticed this as a major flaw with the packs as well. I mean, I can understand if Coelophysis or Giganotosaurus is incompatible with the grassland biome, but Sarcosuchus incompatible with the wetlands biome? Leaellynasaura and Muttaburrasaurus incompatible with the Grassland biome? |

tecnically there was no true Grassland back then, so it's understandable. and anyway, that's something you can easily edit yourself

I like this model! But while I agree that Velociraptor Fluffy, but because of environmental problems, I do not think it has so many feathers, I personally think that Velociraptor body feathers degree of coverage may be similar to Secretary Bird or the Roadrunner. |

There'll be no foot-walking! Just air-flying!

I don't even think that it has more feathers than a roadrunner really, nor a secretary bird actually. They both have a rather fluffy coat, just like the Velociraptor. Remember, feathers insulate. Insulation is both to keep cool and to keep warm. ( You can check this yourself actually, if your house has been insulated well enough, it won't be too hot in the summer, nor too cold in the winter. ) On top of that, temperatures drop below 0 at night in deserts, so there are no environmental problems at all ![]() Now I must say that I quite like the neck, it's nice to see a birdlike neck for once !
