The young could eat enough insects that the green even shows in adults When food is scarce, the adults might eat caterpillars, dragonflies, beetles, and other things to stay alive, being green would just be a bonus in a wooded area. It has nostrils even on the model but they're relatively small so you see them only up close. Lol the alphas were not changed
