Well, as it has to walk, sbird is out. Giraffe is it now, because it moves the legs better than Okapi. The lentgh of the neck doesn't matter, that can easily be changed. ;)
You can add a mixed bone set with sbird/giraffe animations. In the Bfm file, add all the sbird anims to the giraffe animations, the rest of the coding be secretary bird. That's what I did in my pterosaur pack a year ago, if you may remember. If you didn't understand that, shoot me a pm.
But they got stuck when they were going to fly IIRC, so I think new animations would be better distortions or not.

May I ask, will you be doing Chased by Sea Monsters? Because the Pteranodon also features in that so you have one creature done for it.
