Yepp, it was just a crappy cellphone voucher lol.

Here's an invasive red eared slider that I caught and put in my garden pond.

The turtle is cute! :D

Though actually, as long as you don't live in the Western US, red eared sliders aren't actually invasive. :P I have no idea why but everyone thinks they're invasive to Florida and stuff when they aren't.

do they breed naturally where you live ?
because they are invasive here in Italy too, but they rarely breed in nature because of the lower temperature.

Yeah they breed naturally. They haven't taken over up here yet, but I'm starting to find more and more of them every year.

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

They are invasive as well in Thailand. Poor, poor native turtles. They have no chance to win the sliders in eating competition.....

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

I've seen them here too. They don't seem to be establishing well since painted turtles look to be just as aggressive eaters, but they are here.

It's to cold in the winter for sliders to survive where I live

Here in PA it gets really cold too, but the sliders are able to just barely survive it. I think they aren't taking over like they are in some areas because painted turtles are just too well adapted to the cold. They can even freeze themselves solid.

Not sure if I posted this.

Here in southwestern PA I've only seen painted turtles, I didn't know we had red ears too. :P

Now that is an animal I see often. We get tons of garter snakes. All of ours look like that, but have stripes varying from yellow to red to light blue. Are all of these merely variants of the Eastern garter, or other species? They all look alike save for the different hues.

We have a lot of garter snakes where I live to. In fact, I almost stepped on one in the woods behind my house the other day. Started slithering right as I was about to put my foot down. Let me tell you, that was startling. I jumped about three feet in the air.
