It looks good, but isn't the underbelly the wrong colour/pattern? Shouldn't it be lighter?

There will be variants with a cream underbelly. Monitors are really varied animals when it comes to patterns. :)

There will be variants with a cream underbelly. Monitors are really varied animals when it comes to patterns. :)
Variation within species has its margins as well, there are things that are uniform and overlooking them can't really be excused with this one again. :) The pattern and colour combination seems more like it was sourced from a side of the animal, with the top-of-the-body colours and pattern instead of the usual dark and light bands :P

Below are some more pics for the variant references, though the aforementioned variation doesn't quite show dark top-body like bellies to be common, rather to be absent on most specimens, while the top pattern itself is very varied indeed and hard to cover in 3 variants - the bellies stay on the lighter side :)
