Some much needed animals coming out in this pack, will really help with making realistic Australian zoos.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, due to bad folding of the wings on the EE pelican model, I've decided to drop the pelican until a better model comes up. I was quite happy with the head and neck, but unfortunately the wings are a mess ingame.

Oh, the birds, turtle, reeds and especially the freshie looks wonderful, maybe we'll see his larger, saltwater cousin in the future. Excellent job Nessich!

Too bad about the wing folding on the pelican. The head and neck do look very nice ingame. Someone needs to make a pelican model like all ducks are made now, where the wing is just part of the body, and the separate wing folding is removed. I think it was Jannick who first made a duck without separate wings. And that idea / model has been a great success since then.

I disagree, actually. The only reason why I made that model wingless was because the dodo animations did not have folding wings and at the time we had no way of editing animations, and I still kind of regret it because it looks like it opened the door for all sorts of wingless models, even when the wing folding animations are perfectly fine (DM's jay, for instance).
Most of the wingless models nowadays - my ducks included - don't have pre-folded wings on the model, but instead just don't have any wings at all. IRL, a bird folding its wings doesn't just glue them against its body; they significantly alter the overall shape of the bird, and a completely wingless model doesn't do that justice.
What we need are not more wingless models, but better animation sets with better wing folding ;)

Your waterfowl aren't that bad, wingless models for waterfowl, except for maybe swans, aren't bad. I don't think I've ever seen captive waterfowl actually fly (usually they swim around or just sit/stand in one spot)

I just want to say I completely agree. The wingless models looks great, but it isn't.... right. It doesn't do the animals justice. Even if they don't fly in captivity, they still have wings. They still do things with their wings- they stretch them, groom them, flap them, and do other wing-y things with them.

That's probably on the top of my wishlist- a good waterfowl model with wings. I'm not sure if animations could be spliced together from the Jay model, or if a new set would have to be made... The new set would be a huge pain in the butt. Maybe the AD Peafowl could be used as a base or something? I'm pretty sure it was closed off from being public domain at first, but it's open now.

Birds in general got the short end of the stick when it comes to ZT2. There's so many different ones, and they gave us five (but two penguins...).

Sorry for the topic change. I do love the turtle! Reptiles got a pretty short stick too in ZT2, but it seems like the community has came pretty far in fixing that! I'm a sucker for new plants too. That Common Reed is awesome, even if it's invasive where I live...
