Hello! Well, I think about everyone ever in the universe had one of these except me, so I thought I might as well make one. I will attempt not to turn this into a sea of angry rants, but no promises. Also if you want to ask me any questions, you can do that here. Firstly, a bit about me, as I don't think many people know me. I'm fourteen years old and live in Ohio (U.S.) I first got interested in ZT2 when my sister got it as a birthday present when she was about seven. I ended up playing it more than her. I first discovered downloads at Zoo Tycoon Unleashed, where I had an account but literally never did anything. I found NS second, where I was mostly just a lurker. I also discovered Zeta-Designs at this time and that's what really got me into zoo building. From there, I found Gaia, and I was actually a bit more active there for a few months. My interest in ZT2 faded, and with it went my interest in Gaia, and I didn't do anything in the community for a long time. Then, one day I got really bored and started playing ZT2 again. I got back on Gaia and was only there for about a week or so before I discovered The Round Table. I am much more active here than I ever was at Gaia, and I really love this site! Anyway, ask questions and stuff, I'd love to get to know some of you! |

Well, my favorite animal changes a lot. Like almost every day. Lately however, I like hammerhead sharks and whale sharks. Mostly just marine life in general. And I also like Giant Pandas. As for my favorite plant, I'd have to say... raspberry bushes are nice.

Yes, I have been to Cleveland. I live about an hour away. Today, it most certainly was hot in Cleveland. Like 90 degrees. It was really humid too. No, really though, Cleveland seems like a cool place generally. On a more serious note, I've been thinking a lot lately, about the community. People seem to complain a lot about the drama, or the download-centered atmosphere. But what I really feel causes this is the amount of negativity. It seems like people have a lot to complain about. And I understand that the communtity has it's problems. The staff at Gaia, for example, are a hot topic recently. If you have a problem with one of the staff members, then sort it out with them. There is no reason to sit around and complain about it and not do anything. If you don't like the way they run the site, then don't be a part of it. No one is forcing you. As far as downloads go, that's how most of us got here. We were the people that just sat around lurking for downloads. We were the people that never looked at Show and Tells, or art topics, or roleplays. And now we sit around and complain about those people. Why? I think what we need to realize is that life will go on, probably like it has for a while now. Things aren't going to get better if we don't elimate the pessimism. Just my two cents. |

So... I've had a thought. (shocking, I know) You know, it seems like things get misinterpreted a lot in the community, and I think the reason behind this is that we're really just a bunch of teenagers communicating by posting in a forum, and since most of us never meet face to face, we really don't know what kind of tone or body language that person is using. So, my challenge to you: try to be open minded. If someone says something that you think might be offensive or rude, put yourself in their shoes. Imagine the different ways you could say what they said. And try not to overreact. My cat is intently watching me typing, currently. Anyway, any more question? |

Nothing? Hmm. I'm just going to keep posting on the off chance that someone actually reads this. So anyway, my deep thoughts for today: Leaving the community is stupid. No, I'm not saying that if you don't want to be active anymore, then you're stupid. I'm saying that we've turned it into some huge ceremony, where everyone gets all sad and it just generally sucks. Why do we make it so dramatic? People end up saying things like: "I've been really hurt and this community is so corrupt and full of hate! I've just had it with all the stupid drama! Good riddance!" And then everyone else is kind of like... "Was it something I said?"Or things like: "I've spent six years in this hate filled community! Six years of pain and anger! I never should have gotten involved! I'm tired of it all. Goodbye, ZT community..." But what really gets me is when people just spontaneously switch from "I love this community and all the friends I've made here. I love this site. I love ZT2!" to that without any explaining. Really? Do you have to do that? Nice knowing you. Sorry we're all such assholes. |

The storming-outs happen a lot, Farkle. Think of it less as someone sincerely leaving the community (because that's rarely what happens) and more like someone leaving a party for a few hours because that jerk they hate just showed up and ruined the night. They'll leave all dramatically and then after a few hours of frantic texting from their friends (begging them to calm down and just come back to the party, forget that jerkface... he's a jerk!) they'll return and it'll be like nothing happened. People vent their frustrations and disappointments in different ways and this is one of them. Anyyyyyyyway, since you've asked and answered questions about your favorite animal and plant, I'll ask you a really hard, really serious question... Spoiler: click to toggle

I guess you're right MiBound. I was a little worked up when I wrote that because of earlier...events. And...ermm...ummm... ... Onions. ![]() So I was thinking a little bit today. This is what I came up with. Top 3 Things I Want To Do As A Young Hooligan 1. Go swimming in the dark. Imagine it. Breaking out of your house, meeting up with friends, and sneaking into that public pool to do some late-night swimming. That hint of danger, always keeping you on your toes. The laughing and joking. Sounds fun, right? 2. Go on a road trip in an old car. Windows down, loud music, and an ice cold soda. 'nuff said. 3.Go to clubs. Music, dancing. A few drinks. General partying. Then there's that after-bit, when you're driving home with your friends, your sweating, more loud music and just that happy feeling. Good times. Edited by Farkle, Jul 20 2013, 09:33 PM.

I like road trips as long as I'm sitting in the front seat. Otherwise, I get carsick and grumpy. I've never gone swimming in the dark and I haven't been to any clubs, but the former sounds nice too. Hope you get to do all these before you grow up. ![]() Also, I have a question...Do you or do you not like carrot cake? Choose your answer cautiously. |

Carrot cake is wonderful. It is amongst the most royal of cakes. It as ascended above we mortals, to a plane of glorious carroty existence that not one soul in this world can try to comprehend. Anywho, I had an idea the other day. I really like writing and I am always on the lookout for new ideas, and I came up with one that I kind of like. Basically there is a world that is completely different than ours, different animals, different environments, but there are still humans, only they live completely differently than us. They respect and admire nature and all living things, but some of this comes from the mystery of it. Humans in this world have not explored and know little of the world, and so a young boy, probably about ten, and his older sister, probably about fifteen or sixteen, somehow leave their home and set out to explore the world. I know not much of a plot. But I thought, maybe I could turn this into a RP, but the problem is I don't really know much about roleplaying and I don't really know where to start. Any advice? EDIT: Wow I said "the world" a lot there. Edited by Farkle, Jul 21 2013, 08:41 PM.

Sound like you have a nice adventure/fantasy story going. As for turning it into an RP, I would sugges looking through the rules and some of the more popular RPs on this site and others if you like. Also, the idea of having two main characters solely is quite damaging to an RP, as other players would want to be in the limelight. I suggest making it a group of adventurers rather than two, and the latter can be your two profiles. The adventurers could either start out with each other, or find each other through any means. I will have to warn you. Creating an RP that isn't based on any previous canon and is in a different world like yours is will require a lot of detail, as other RPers may ruin the image you had in mind of what the world is. You might want to create a number of creatures for RPers to use in their writing, as well as some NPC characters and a basic description of the people and their culture.

Well the two main characters wouldn't be in a roleplay, that was more if I turned it into a storyish type thing. I was thinking you could either choose to be a creature of some sort, or a human. Honestly the more I think about it the less I like the idea. |
