Deep Thoughts With Farkle

Hello!

Well, I think about everyone ever in the universe had one of these except me, so I thought I might as well make one. I will attempt not to turn this into a sea of angry rants, but no promises. Also if you want to ask me any questions, you can do that here.

Firstly, a bit about me, as I don't think many people know me. I'm fourteen years old and live in Ohio (U.S.) I first got interested in ZT2 when my sister got it as a birthday present when she was about seven. I ended up playing it more than her. I first discovered downloads at Zoo Tycoon Unleashed, where I had an account but literally never did anything. I found NS second, where I was mostly just a lurker. I also discovered Zeta-Designs at this time and that's what really got me into zoo building. From there, I found Gaia, and I was actually a bit more active there for a few months. My interest in ZT2 faded, and with it went my interest in Gaia, and I didn't do anything in the community for a long time. Then, one day I got really bored and started playing ZT2 again. I got back on Gaia and was only there for about a week or so before I discovered The Round Table. I am much more active here than I ever was at Gaia, and I really love this site!

Anyway, ask questions and stuff, I'd love to get to know some of you!

I like seafood, too. But Italian is my second favorite cuisine after Japanese, tied with Chinese. :3

Avocado = the bestest thing in the world, even more so than seafood.

So yes. YES.

Jealousy

Well, it's been a while since I've done an actual serious bloggy thing, so I thought I'd try and write something. I decided that I should talk a little bit about jealousy, because this is something I just realized, and it's made me feel a lot better. People are always going to be jealous. It's a natural instinct to want to be the best, but the thing is, There's always someone that's going to be better than you. So instead of constantly hating on that person just because they're better than you, we should acknowledge their success. They're good at what they do for a reason. So we should strive to be like that person, aim to be good at what we do, but accept that there is always room to improve more.

A particular example that sticks out to me is a writing competition I was in last year. There was this girl who beat me by one point. I was constantly trying to beat her, I had formed a rivalry, and we were always battling for first, but it wasn't accomplishing anything. There was no reason to hate her because she was successful. Eventually I just stopped, I let her do her thing and went on with life.

And I think this ties into the community a lot, too. Thee's always going to be competition between designers and zoo builders, but what we need to realize is that these people that are better than us should be our role models, not our rivals.

The answer to everything!

I agree with you, it's just a very hard emotion to bury (jealousy). I have people that I'm jealous of in the community, Susan, ZKG, Zoocrazy, Danny, bagas, bayu and many, many others. I mean; they're all so talented, everyone loves them and for good reason, they're great people. I guess I wouldn't cal it so much jealousy, but rather envy. I wish that I could do half as good as they do so I could have something to say about myself.

And you too Farkle, you do amazing stuff with PP that I could only dream of.

This might be the strangest question you've ever been asked.

What is your favorite keyboard orientation? (QWERTY or Alphabetical)

I never said it was easy, Azrael, but don't put yourself down. :) You do great work for the site and are an excellent admin, and your zoos are awesome too.

Also, powerpoint's not that hard once you actually figure it out. I think Danny's making some tutorials in his blog. :D

SLSB, since you asked,

QWERTY.

SO MUCH QWERTY.
