Just walked my dogs after getting home from work and found 2 baby Robins on the ground. We had a really bad storm here last night that broke a lot of tree limbs, etc., and I'm worried they might have been knocked out of their nests. There are plenty of feral cats in the area (semi-rural) not to mention owls and hawks... Do I leave them there or do something stupid like scoop them up in a shoebox and try to fledge them myself??? (I have a lot of experience bird-keeping, just not in the last few years). Help!! |

Leave them where they are. Even though it's sad what happened (and it's even sadder considering what will happen, cats and such), but nature is harsh. |

Yeaaaah, that's what I'm reading online too. Just really sad, one of them is pretty small. :C |

I had a situation like this. create a fake nest maybe with an icecream bucket, line it with comfortable leaves and things then put tie the bucket in a tree wit the baby birds inside and the parents will probably find it again. i did this once and it worked. |

I dont really think you can compare a video game with real life in such situations

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

Indeed. While it's a bit late for this case, if you ever stumble upon a similar situation again this is always worth trying and usually successful. I could never leave baby birds on the ground to die without giving them a chance.... Stupid human maternal instincts. |
