- IguaZOO Official Blog -![]() - HISTORY OF THE PARK - My wife Carolina and i were truly surprise when we open the envelope. Her father, to whom she hadn't spoken for years, had die. But that wasn't the full surprise, because acording to the lawyer that sent us the letter, he had left her daughter all his fortune (and it was a big one). Maybe he was trying to find some last hope for redemption through this generous act or maybe she was the only relative he had left, but whatever the case was, after a few weeks of burocracy and paperwork we found our self with a lot of money (like a six zeros cipher kind of number ). She had never have so much money for herself (at least not since she run away from home to marry me 10 years ago) so she was hesitant about what to do with it. I told her she should think about it conscientiously, and don't take rushed decisions. So i proposed to her to take a trip to her favorite place in the country: the Iguazú Falls. After a few days there, we went to Posadas, a nearby city, and it was about that time when we first heard about this place. A local man told us the story of Harold Braun, a german inmigrant that came to Argentina after the WW1, to start over here with his wife Anna. Mr. Braun was a naturalist and passionate about wildlife, and so was his wife. So they decided to build their home in a land they bought just next to the jungle. Her wife, like Carolina now, was very wealthy. As the year passed by, they began to be concerned about the rising ilegal hunting that was taking place in the missionary jungle. Harold, during his walks through the forest, began to find animals wounded by the hunters. He finally told his wife about it and they decided to build a refugie for the poor creatures. So they bought this enourmous land and build what at first was the Braun's Rehabilitacion and Rescue Center for Wounded Animals (RRCWA). Their little enterprise began to growth really fast, and by the time both of them died, the Center had become a big and important place, where animals from all around the country were taken to be heal and to offer them protection. Their children inherited the place, and they continue with their parents hard work. But when they die as well, their own children couldn't take care of it anymore, so they just sold the Center to a very corrupt man, that stoled all the funds the Center had and abandoned it (and all the animals that lived there) to its fate. Some of the staff member stay, to take care of the animals, but the debts began to accumulate and the Center felt in disgraced. Caro and i felt really touched by the story, so we asked the old man for directions, so we could go have a look for ourselves. The place was just a few miles away from the city, so we rented a car and went there. What we found was really heartbreaking. There were only three staff members left and a couple of volunteers, all of them working for free there, doing what they could to keep the animals healthy. But without any resources at all the conditions of the animals and their enclosures were deplorable. After seeing that horrible scenario, Caro already knew what to do with her new money. We bought the Center. We paid the debts. We take care of the animals... and we rebuild the place. We kept the staff that was already here, we start paying the volunteers for their hard work during all this years, and we hired more people to work here. So after six years of hard work, and an extreme make over, we transformed the ruins of the Center into the Zoo that is today. IguaZOO only featured Southamerican and (a few) Central American animals. Our main objective is to contribute with the conservation of endangered species of the region (there for our Breedings and Reintroduction to the Wild Programs) and to educate people about the local fauna. - GENERAL INFORMATION - Year of foundation: 2007 Opening date: March 22, 2013 Location: Outside Posadas, Misiones, Argentina Owned by: Braun's Wildlife Conservation Society (BWCS) Size: 100 acres (with plans on expanding) Number of animal species: undetermined for the moment - SECTIONS OF THE PARK - Section one: SOUTHAMERICAN WETLANDS (GRAN PANTANAL) Opening date: March 22, 2013 - Map overview - ![]()

Well i'm still working on the skins. I did another one ![]() This cat has a lot of variation. I want to do at least 5 skins, so i don't know how long is going to take me. At least another couple of days. The fox and the deer seem to be easier

On another update, i finally succeed on skining the pampas cat (kind of ), but i can't make it work ingame. Snoopy, Crook and Azrael are taking a look to the file to see where i screwed up exactly ![]() Once i learn how to code the animals, won't take long to start showing the zoo again ![]() Edit: i guess i was wrong Now the Jungle Adventures section is winning.

Guys i was wondering... i know i already a lot of maps plan for this zoo, that as you can see is pretty massive... but once MasterChief packs is out i would really love to use the Carebean species in my zoo and also have a section for the Galapagos island... so should i add another map to the future zoo? By the way i already started building the "Jungle Adventures" map. I need to use a large map for this one so, i hope it doesn't get extremely laggy. Last time i use a large map, my game started crashing when it was finish and the lag was so terrible that i could barelly move through it. I didn't have that much problem with lag in the middle size maps... so i was also wondering if i should go ahead with the large size map or change it to a middle size map. If i do this last thing i will have to divide this section in two parts, because the Jaguar exhibit it self (which is also the most important exhibit of this part of the zoo) is quite large. So to sum up, i need your opinion in this two things: 1 - Adding another map for the tropical coasts of Southamerica: a. Yes, that will be cool / b. I don't think is necessary, the zoo is big enough / c. I don't really care, do as you please 2 - Changing the large map for two medium size maps for the jungle section of the zoo: a. Yes, that will be better / b. Man up and build it in a large map

Haha, I said incorrectly Why don't you use multi-map zoos? But not like, a section per map, 1-3 exhibits only per map This reduces the lag a lot and you can make large foliage sections...

Oh i understand what you mean. I really don't like to do that, because i think is better for me to have a map per section. Is more organized, and if i want to play the zoo in the future is better, because i don't have to open dozens of maps every time Plus i'm planning on doing a mega map with all the sections of the zoo once they are all finnish
