- IguaZOO Official Blog -![]() - HISTORY OF THE PARK - My wife Carolina and i were truly surprise when we open the envelope. Her father, to whom she hadn't spoken for years, had die. But that wasn't the full surprise, because acording to the lawyer that sent us the letter, he had left her daughter all his fortune (and it was a big one). Maybe he was trying to find some last hope for redemption through this generous act or maybe she was the only relative he had left, but whatever the case was, after a few weeks of burocracy and paperwork we found our self with a lot of money (like a six zeros cipher kind of number ). She had never have so much money for herself (at least not since she run away from home to marry me 10 years ago) so she was hesitant about what to do with it. I told her she should think about it conscientiously, and don't take rushed decisions. So i proposed to her to take a trip to her favorite place in the country: the Iguazú Falls. After a few days there, we went to Posadas, a nearby city, and it was about that time when we first heard about this place. A local man told us the story of Harold Braun, a german inmigrant that came to Argentina after the WW1, to start over here with his wife Anna. Mr. Braun was a naturalist and passionate about wildlife, and so was his wife. So they decided to build their home in a land they bought just next to the jungle. Her wife, like Carolina now, was very wealthy. As the year passed by, they began to be concerned about the rising ilegal hunting that was taking place in the missionary jungle. Harold, during his walks through the forest, began to find animals wounded by the hunters. He finally told his wife about it and they decided to build a refugie for the poor creatures. So they bought this enourmous land and build what at first was the Braun's Rehabilitacion and Rescue Center for Wounded Animals (RRCWA). Their little enterprise began to growth really fast, and by the time both of them died, the Center had become a big and important place, where animals from all around the country were taken to be heal and to offer them protection. Their children inherited the place, and they continue with their parents hard work. But when they die as well, their own children couldn't take care of it anymore, so they just sold the Center to a very corrupt man, that stoled all the funds the Center had and abandoned it (and all the animals that lived there) to its fate. Some of the staff member stay, to take care of the animals, but the debts began to accumulate and the Center felt in disgraced. Caro and i felt really touched by the story, so we asked the old man for directions, so we could go have a look for ourselves. The place was just a few miles away from the city, so we rented a car and went there. What we found was really heartbreaking. There were only three staff members left and a couple of volunteers, all of them working for free there, doing what they could to keep the animals healthy. But without any resources at all the conditions of the animals and their enclosures were deplorable. After seeing that horrible scenario, Caro already knew what to do with her new money. We bought the Center. We paid the debts. We take care of the animals... and we rebuild the place. We kept the staff that was already here, we start paying the volunteers for their hard work during all this years, and we hired more people to work here. So after six years of hard work, and an extreme make over, we transformed the ruins of the Center into the Zoo that is today. IguaZOO only featured Southamerican and (a few) Central American animals. Our main objective is to contribute with the conservation of endangered species of the region (there for our Breedings and Reintroduction to the Wild Programs) and to educate people about the local fauna. - GENERAL INFORMATION - Year of foundation: 2007 Opening date: March 22, 2013 Location: Outside Posadas, Misiones, Argentina Owned by: Braun's Wildlife Conservation Society (BWCS) Size: 100 acres (with plans on expanding) Number of animal species: undetermined for the moment - SECTIONS OF THE PARK - Section one: SOUTHAMERICAN WETLANDS (GRAN PANTANAL) Opening date: March 22, 2013 - Map overview - ![]()

- IguaZOO Updates - NEW ARRIVALS! ( 9/2/2013) IguaZOO is proud to anounce the arrival of a new southamerican specie to its always growing collection. We were gifted by a local feline rescue center with not only one, but two breeding pairs of PAMPA'S CAT (Leopardus pajeros). Unfortunally we only have enough space to keep one of the breeding pairs permanently in the zoo, since their exhibit is not large enough to house them all. Two of the cats are currently living in the Pampa's fox exhibit until the foxes arrive to the zoo as well. Then they will be moved to an off show facility, until we manage to find a new home. So two of the cats are for trade or adoption at the moment, with the only condition that they should be kept together in the enclosure since they are a couple. Here is a picture showing each one of them. ![]() As you can see each cat has a distintic coat pattern that makes it unique from the other three. The one with the black coat and the one with lighter colour coat are the females. Non of the cats has names at the moment, so here comes the new questions for you guys: - How should the cats be named? - Wich breeding pair should we kept? I want to thank a lot of people for helping me acomplish this first ZT2 project of mine: - DM / Hendrix: model and textures were made by him and belong to his European Wildcat from European Expeditions. Thank you for making your projects PD so a lot of needed animals can be created. - Crookedjaw, MiBound and Azrael for helping me with my doubts about skinning - Snoopy and Zerosvalmont that help me out with the coding and is because of them that i have the animals working in game NOTE: the cat for now is PU (not that anyone would want it since i know it looks awful) but once i learn how to make the zoopedia, the lang files and the icon i will release it if you guys want to (because i think the model and texture i used are PD since they are DM's like i said) Edited by Ignacio, Sep 3 2013, 06:44 PM.

I would say keep the Black female and the tan male for a breeding pair. I would name them by their personalities. Or name them a name in the language from where they are from like an African name if it was a lion etc. |

I actually like Nico for one of the males, probably the redish one, but i adore the name julia for the black female. Oh i want to keep all of them But it wouldn't be realistic because their exhibit is not that big

Ok i have these, as these cats are from south america, and almost every tribe from SA has a name for the mother earth i think you should name one of the girls Pacha (for pacha mama) and the remain male should be named Salvador (ugh i love that name) |

I like Gaia better. I think i will use that name for the remaining female. And thanks Azrael! The only thing i did were the skins and the basic coding, but zeros fix the problem of the cat not appearing ingame and Snoopy is changing some values in the coding (conservation status, biome, etc). And i still have the problem that the babies are white and they stay white when they grow up, and i don't know why is that
