Ewww![]() Meet Creatonotos gangis, the weirdest moth you've ever seen. This is a male, and the strange structures you can see are called corematas. They're used to spread large amounts of pheromones which attract females. The size of these scent organs are dependent on the diet that the moth experienced as a caterpillar. |

Not a weird animal, but rather a situation. A lone minke whale swam into the Amazon river and ended up in a place 1600 kilometres far from ocean.

![]() I found the Marbled Tree Frog to be quite strange, though due to this, I have a heightened respect for this one. It seems to be fearless to humans, it just stays in my hand every time I hold it, in a non-lethargic way. This species really has opened my eyes. (Same with White's Tree Frogs) |
