Poor Squeak! It's a good thing you found him. It may sound weird but I would kind of find it relieving knowing he never left the whole time. I mean now you know he might at least not have eating something he shouldnt have outside. Good thing you found him though!

We got him!!

We were chasing someone elses poor cat outside. Squeak was trapped in the large cistern in our basement. My mom looked in it before but without a flashlight, so she didn't see him. When she was down there doing laundry tonight she heard him squeak (he was named due to the fact that his meow is very weak) and grabbed a flashlight. The stupid cat was huddled underneath a rickety ladder that he could've used to climb out, but I suppose he was so terrified of being down there alone in such a strange place that he just shut up and stayed where he was. Neither of the cats are supposed to have access to the basement but I guess he managed to sneak through the door when it was accidentally left open or something.

He was down there for about two and a half days without food and water, and he's filthy from the dust and dirt, but we've got him. Tomorrow we'll give him a bath so that we don't traumatize him even more before he's had a chance to recover. He hasn't had anything to eat or drink yet despite putting him with the food and water, but he'll get around to it in his own time. He seems to be more interested in exploring the house at the moment since all of our furniture was brought in while he was still trapped in the basement.

Thank goodness I can sleep easy tonight. ^_^ And now maybe I can actually get a bit of studying done for my upcoming exam.
Hope your cat recovers soon!
He already seems quite relaxed. ^_^ He just came to me for pets and rolled onto his back for a belly rub. Poor guy is still filthy though. xD Now my hands are all gray.

@SLSB: Doesn't sound weird at all! I really am glad he never left, especially because of how scared he would've been. They're both absolutely terrified of the outdoors.

I'm very glad that you found him!

As I have a experience with cats, I have to say that I thought he was dead. I had some cats that we lost and we never found them again. Fortunately, some cats we found. I know how's the feeling of have a cat lost. We can't do nothing besides think in them. I'm very glad for you!
