For all those serious thoughts.

Hello readers! I'm going to put all my serious things here, like, world views, other rants and stuff, and then use my other blog,
(Ironically titled "Deep Thoughts") for more random silly stuff.

So, I like to think that most people here kinda know who I am, or at least have seen me around, but for those who don't know me my real name is Alex. I live in the U.S. and spend most of my time doing art related things, going to school, or hanging out here. I'm an atheist, but not to an extreme point, and I try to be open minded. If I post something that you disagree with, please keep in mind that I don't want to start an argument, and that even though our opinions differ, I still respect yours.

That's about it, really. :)

Jerks in school.

I don't understand, why is it cool to pick on the Asian girl? Why is it cool to laugh at the nerds? I just don't get it.

But what bothers me more than anything they could say, do, indicate, or imply, is their general demeanor of stupidity. I find it odd. Almost all of the idiotic jerks at my school act the same way. The wear khaki shorts and under armor. They have those fabric-y belts that they wear so they hang down below their shirts. Their hair is always the same: short, spiked up in the front. They wear tall black socks and tennis shoes.

The way they walk is weird too, like their arms and sides have some sort of weird magnetic connection thingy so that they can't touch. They always have they're legs far apart with their feet pointing out. Shoulders back, head bent forward. Then they laugh weird too, like they never are actually genuinely laughing. They just breath out and never inhale. And when they're "laughing" and they talk at the same time their words get all slurred and they never close their mouths.

For some reason the word "gay" seems to be an insult now, too.

If you're in the orchestra, you're gay. If you're in the play, you're gay. If you don't play sports, you're gay. If you have friends that are girls you're gay. If you like art, you're gay.

Not only is this offensive to ME, it's offensive to people who are ACTUALLY GAY. So these people really should just shut their mouths.

Couldn't agree more. It makes you wonder how someone could be arrogant enough to say that what they think is cool simply is. And even worse is when they make fun of something that isn't even your fault. I didn't ask to be ugly in middle school, yet somehow the acne was worth making fun of me about. No matter what it's about, I strongly see bullying as wrong and one of the biggest problems in the public school (or in many cases private/charter) system.

I went through my fair share of bullying in elementary and middle school, and it caused me quite a lot of stress, even though the people making fun of me were supposedly my 'friends', and that they were just 'joking'. It is quite sickening that they would pull that sort of thing. I can honestly say that the bullies at my school aren't dumb in any way. They're actually quite smart, which makes them even more lethal and hurtful. They make you feel close to them, compliment you, until you feel like they might actually be friends, and then they just drop the act all of a sudden, and you realize it was all a play on you, because just insulting you right then and there wouldn't hurt enough.

I have to admit that, in high school, I no longer get picked on very much. I'm kinda the guy in the middle. I'm on good terms with the higher ups and the guys on the bottom, which is the best place to be, I think. However, I've witnessed so many incidents that have happened to me before. These frail, nerdy kids being brought in by the popular kids, making them feel comfortable and friendly, until they get something out of them, and then they use it against them.

I have this friend who has had that happen to him before. He was friends with them until he admitted that he had bacteriophobia, and that was it. Since then, he's been bothered to no end about it. The bullies stuff detergent and wet wipes in his locker, leave dead bugs and boogers on his desk. It's just sickening.

Pressure To Conform

This makes me more angry then probably anything else on this planet. Why do people all want to be the same? Why do people try and fit into "categories"? I've been in many places before, and right now I'm feeling a little lost. There is so much pressure to be a certain person, it can just be really confusing. Take for example, pressures in school. People are always telling me to do good in school, try my hardest, go to college, get a job, etc, and what annoys me is that these people never seem to think about what I want. If I want to move to Nebraska and become a sheep farmer, I should have the freedom to do that. If I want to be a minimalist and have a mattress on the floor and a desk as the only furniture in my room (Which I would actually like) Then I should be able to do that. But people always seem to think that that's not right, and "I'll be happier" if I don't.

Society tells us to be one way or another quite a lot, tells us what's "normal" or not, even if we don't realize it. And this just makes me livid. I should be able to DO WHAT I WANT without having to listen TO YOU TRY AND DICTATE MY LIFE FOR ME.

I apologize for the briefness of my blog entries, but I've never been one to post big long paragraphs. I just hope I got my point across.

I agree with you Farkle. You are still young, but always make sure you do whate ever you enjoy the most and don't mind other people pressures. Is hard, really hard to do it but at the end is worth it. You won't be happy with a job that you don't enjoy. Take it from someone who missed so many good oportunities to do what he really would have love to do just because he thought it wasn't a realistic choice for a living because of society standars.

October I don't know the date. xD

Leadership: A Blessing, A Curse, And Thoughts on People Who Do It Wrong.

I recently began working on the set for my school play, and honestly, it makes me furious. I'd like to share a brief story.

When I first joined the crew, a girl named Taylor was in charge. Taylor was kind of a [insert bad word] and generally enjoyed ordering people around and telling them what to do in a very rude way. Once upon a time, Taylor told a girl to paint a backdrop. The girl decided to paint the window frame gold, and instead of calmly telling her that the window would look better in a lighter color, Taylor started shouting and swearing and saying things like:

"You ******* screwed up the ******* canvas, now it looks like ****!"

I mean really, is that necessary?

But what I really get a kick out of, is that Miss. Taylor QUIT her position as crew manager because "She wasn't getting the respect she deserved".

Now we are in total disarray because there's no one in charge anymore.

I honestly wish I could just be in charge. I wish people could just have a little respect for each other. I'm not asking for everyone to be best friends. I just want order.

I you aren't ready to be a leader and can't handle when things don't go you way, or run off at the first sign of drama, you shouldn't be a leader. Either do your job or quit.
