In my opinion the best fishing comes in the evening at a bass pond in the country in kansas fishing with my dad and hearing the locust in the grass and smelling the alfalfa from the fields.

scorpionfish are very tasty, especially as soup or sauce for spaghetti.
although i never ate one, i caught only two of them (black species, smaller than Crook's) and i released one, while the other was eaten by my grandparents.

Awww, I know how you feel Furka. This summer, in Canada, me, my dad, my friend and his dad were fishing lake trout. I hooked one and it took me 15 minutes to get him up to the boat. He was huge. 4 ft long and probably a 30 in girth. My dad tried to scoop him up in the net but all we had was a little tiny walleye net. He flopped out and swam away. Most disappointing day of my life.

I really want to get out fishing at least once more this season but it's getting so cold and we don't go ice-fishing, so I probably won't be able to. :/

i hope you manage to.

we are getting a crazy time here: it's still very hot in the middle of the day but cold at the beginning and the end, and we are starting to get the first rains of autumns.
all the rivers have been messed up by the rain (there have been some serious floods that did alot of damage in some areas) and so are the channels linked to them. there are still sea fishing and some ponds, but the sea is too moody, and for the pond i want to go to i need my dad because he's the one who knows the owner (there's still the carp pond near my home, but carps are boring ...).

i can't wait til it's winter, hoping in won't be as bad as the last two, so it starts the most Serious fishing season of the year; fewer fish, harder to catch, but very worth it.
