I think that one's actually pretty creative. Wasn't it made entirely out of recycled car parts or something?

by far my least favorite Papo dinosaur
most of the other inaccurate papo dinosaurs are based on Jurassic Park animals, making them actually pretty cool
but this oviraptor is just so sad, and they went with the egg holding, I HATE THE EGG HOLDING!!!
it feels like 90% of ovi figurines are holding eggs and its really annoying

Speaking of which, what annoys me is the misconception that ornithomimids were specialized egg thieves. Where did that idea even come from? At least there was some evidence for the notion that oviraptorids were egg thieves (the eggs that were at the time thought to belong to Protoceratops with an incomplete Oviraptor skeleton nearby). AFAIK there's never been any evidence that ornithomimids ate eggs. Sorry Ozzy, but it turns out Strut has been eating right all along, it's you whose got your diet backwards.

I think maybe it was the beak thing
people were in denial about the bird relation to they tried to justify beaks some other way

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

Actually, I can still see some Oviraptorids raid other dinosaur nest for eggs in some special occation. But they are indeed not the egg specialize creatures. They just freakin eat everything!

I mainly hate it since it ruins the figure IMO
I tend to dislike highly posed figures (JP3 I'm looking at you)
and Papos are already highly posed enough without holding a friggin egg permanently xD

some Papo are just amazing tho, like that archaeopteryx, its beautiful
(its far right, sorry for my bad pic, tablet camera..)

I scored it in a trade on the JP toy forums
its well worth the price (just no Papo retailers around here)

one thing that really bothers me are those reconstructions that come so close to accurate, that try so hard
but the feathers somehow just can't reach that middle finger xD

another thing is when those who (should) know better use retrosaurs just to get popular
Posted Image
Branson Dinosaur Museum is relatively recently made and the people building these displays knew better than to use retrosaurs
but since the museum is marketed to children, they figured they would capitalize on this look and get more money by teaching outdated science >_<

the other I day I saw a teaser poster at the local (provincial) museum advertising dinosaurs coming in 2015
obviously an attempt to take advantage of the JW release
which makes me worried something similar will happen, heck they might even base it off of JP
I'd hate for something like this to happen and to end up at odds with the staff

Wasn't that picture made before it was known that deinonychosaurs were feathered? If so, you're kind of just beating the dead horse by mocking it (no offence). :P It doesn't even look that bad to me (no worse than the JP Velociraptor, anyway).
