It is all about the money these days. The CGI quality has gone down ever since the original WWD.

I wouldn't say that
I'd say if anything CGI quality in general has only improved

Probably because, T. Rex + Trike = More people watching = $
As I said though, the ecosystem of Maastrichtian Hell Creek existed for a good 2-3 million years. They don't HAVE to have a "rocks fall, everyone dies" ending for every dinosaur story that takes place in Hell Creek.

i have trouble thinking of a Documentary that involves Tyrannosaurus and other Hell Creek residents not being killed by a rock.

It's like they think Hell Creek existed only so it could be destroyed a short time later.

I do seem to recall a few that didn't end in the asteroid
but the names of them don't come to mind

At least DR and Dinotasia had the decency to start their Hell Creek sequences a decade or so prior to the asteroid impact, as opposed to the usual 6 or 7 days.

Aren't those the same thing, just different narration?

DR also had sequences with species that never made it into Dinotasia
but Dinotasia had a more interesting and seamless flow through for the segments it did include

Pheraps Hell Creek gets chosen because the formations also includes the very beginning of the Cenozoic, thus we can directly see the effects of the Asteroid impact.
I don't know how many well known formations with the same time laps have been found ...

But of course, Rexy was there ...

My dinodoom is meant to be an aversion of course, but I am currently working on a martian biosphere film, I will need some voice actors for it, anyway this has turned up in pop culture so many times that even tv tropes has noted it.

When I was looking for pictures of Parasaurolophus crests, I crossed over this :

I've seen that one before. I'm pretty sure it was from some s**tty creationist dinosaur book. Can't remember whether I used to own the book, or just saw it somewhere. It speculated something about Parasaurolophus's crest possibly housing reactive chemicals like those of the bombadier beetle, and as a result we ended up with this pitiful drawing to illustrate the laughable hypothesis. xD
