Why should they accept restorations that fail to be accurate if the accuracy is their goal? Say, you see a troodontid with the sickle claw sticking up almost to the ankle. Would you want that to be included in a group that aims for accurate restorations?

I'm aware they want to be as accurate as possible, but if they see something like a single feather mark wrong, they'll get mad and reject an artwork, from what I've heard and read. |

That's only fair; if they want art accurate, then I understand that. It's their group to decide. |

People who complain about scientific accuracy in media that was never intended to be accurate in the first place! Complaining about inaccurate details in a documentary is fine, but people who complain about scientific accuracy in say, Disney's Dinosaur, are really wasting their time! |

The fact that dinosaurs completely went extinct and just left the evolutionary timeline, and when people say that all dinosaurs evolved into reptiles and amphibians. EDIT: I phrased that wrong and I meant when some people say that dinosaurs never evolved it annoys me

What a pretty blue jay ![]() Anyway, I'm annoyed by the people who are upset/disappointed by accurate restorations, (in terms of size) of liopleurodon, (Or anything prehistorci really,) instead of the 80 foot WWD Godzilla-size Lio. |

Godzilla is actually WAY bigger than 80 feet, but I get your point.

speaking of Godzilla, i hate when people think that the 1998 G is the same creature, Toho themselves have turned it into a different monster called Zilla. and i also hate when they say that movie was better than the Japanese ones just because it doesn't use a puppet, it is a very nice movie but it has nothing to do with the original Godzilla. |

What I don't get is why Zilla is supposed to be a mutated iguana, while Godzilla is a dinosaur, even though Zilla looks and behaves far more like a dinosaur than Godzilla ever did. |

Lol sorry I meant when people say that dinosaurs never evolved and just disappeared forever... ![]() And also, this: ![]() I hate when dodos are depicted as clumsy and fat, when they really weren't that chubby and were as intelligent as any other normal bird. EDIT: I edited that post to clarify that I meant that a lot of people say that

The only depiction I can name off-hand that didn't have dodos portrayed as dumb, fat, and lethargic is Primeval's portrayal. For all the exaggerations they made to many of their creatures, the dodos were pretty much spot-on in terms of accuracy. |

I think I have seen a documentary that claim that actually dodo is a very vicious birds that protect their nest like crazy, but they still can't match to the invasive pigs, dogs and rats. Also, they even claim that dodo got killed easily because its aggression as it charges at the hunters instead of running away. Don't know is it true or not, but if you ask me, that huge beak seem to use to deliver nasty bite quite well. Edited by Mathius Tyra, Oct 13 2013, 11:25 AM.

There'll be no foot-walking! Just air-flying!

IIRC, there's a museum in Leiden, Naturalis, that shows an accurate portrait of the dodo based upon the latest evidence. ![]() You can see the picture here. |
