Even if they were consuming prey their own size, we still don't know if they dug their faces into the carcass like vultures or if they ripped small pieces off like eagles.

If the prey was exactly their own size, then that would make sense for their snouts to be bare and not their whole head/head and neck because their prey wouldn't have been like a zebra and more like a gazelle, so from the bottom to the top of the prey's torso it would only be a snout's length.

Although we still don't know until evidence is found. Out of curiosity, do you dislike restorations like this bother you or only ones like this? (The first one looks much more like a frog I guess)
Those both look OK to me (in fact, the first one is awesome). I'm talking more about, for example, the WWD Troodon.

The only thing I see is that the wings are too sparsely feathered. I think the head should have more feathers but that may still be accurate.

It's not terrible, but it would've been better with a more feathery face.

EDIT: AVC ninja'd me! :ninja:

The DR Troodon is just as good IMO, but the WWD version definitely rivals it.

The MOTD Troodon? A better question would be what isn't wrong with it?

I had forgotten about the DR troodon xD
I guess because it was a different (smaller) species?

I was comparing it to MOTD, DP, and PD

What's wrong with this one?
The thing is that that troodon barely has any wing feathers.

Not to mention that its head is so naked it's almost a disgrace.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Dinosaur Planet (The one with White Tip and such) made before there was evidence for wing feathers on stuff like Troodon?

One thing that never ceases to annoy me is the fact that it seems impossible to read an article about a new dinosaur without it being compared to T. rex multiple times. "Animal A, a relative of the famous T-rex" and "Animal B is X times the size of T-rex" annoy me the most.

When people think if there's no evidence for something then that can never happen. Just because some early dinosaur doesn't have preserved feathers doesn't mean it didn't have any.

Do such people have any idea how rare it is for soft tissues or integument to fossilize? Like it or not, the fact is that we actually have very little knowledge as to the true life appearance of dinosaurs.

And its skull shape is totally wrong as well...
