What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

But why would a land-dwelling animal living in a climate that wasn't particularly cold have so much fatty tissue?

Come to think of it, what is it about the idea of birds being theropods that BANDits find so appalling in the first place?
Probably because it makes them lose "the cool factor" in their eyes.

Not that it does.. -.-

Wait, is it birds or dinosaurs that have lost the cool factor in the eyes of BANDits? :P

OH YESSS!

A minor remark from my dad back in 2008 I recall when I was browsing the animal list of Extinct Animals when the old Zoo Tycoon 2 website used to exist still, and when I ended up passing by Velociraptor (Depicted with feathers as in the actual game and real life), my dad said "That's not how it looks". At first I didn't realize he was talking about Velociraptor, but then it became obvious when you consider that Velociraptor is famous for two things; being featherless, and being about as big as Utahraptor at best (AKA Jurassic Park). I'm pretty sure he was just joking with me though, but given how my dad isn't exactly one to know these things about Dinosaurs, I didn't hold a grudge with him about how Velociraptor looked. I mean sure, even Extinct Animals got a few mistakes with it's design, but it still actually resembled the real life animal more so than the JP Raptors.

It's not necessarily the JP raptors couldn't exist in real life, they still follow the laws of physics and anatomy, it's just they look more like evolved squamates of some kind than they do dromaeosaurs.

the JP raptors are severely injured and genetically deformed, but they could theoretically live very sad horridly painful lives

Oh god, not another one of these motherf**king morons. Pardon my French (just be glad I censored it), but those who say that paleontology is a massive hoax to discredit God are just the worst kind of people in my eyes (well, the worst people who aren't actively breaking the law or discriminating other human beings at least).

How a lot of people that are Christians that like palaeontology(myself included)get treated like we're stupid because someone said that the earth is 6000 years old and that animals didn't eat each other in the garden of Eden, oh yeah sure, Tyrannosaurus ate fruit off trees and Velociraptor ate leaves off bushes like a deer. Also the basic stereotype that Christians can't like palaeontology.

I'm perfectly fine with Christians that believe in evolution and the earth being millions of years old (Fluffy is one such Christian IIRC, and I consider him to be one of my best friends). Also, I don't think anyone ever said that Christians can't like paleontology (at least not on this site).
