What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Regarding this topic, I must admit I dislike people who make up things and avoid questions directly when debating on subjects. However normally I can handle this even in a civilized discussion, what I cannot handle however is people who provide no evidence at all for their claims, especially when relating to matters such as Palaeontology, it irks me heavily. My example of this is a recent 'discussion' I had with someone on YouTube recently, the conversation has been put into a spoiler not due to its content, but because it's a long image.

Spoiler: click to toggle

While this isn't directly related to Palaeontology, the claims made by this person irk me even further while he/she provides no direct evidence for them despite me asking for evidence repeatedly. What saddens me the most however is the lack of reply, surely if this person did indeed believe that Dinosaurs in their Mesozoic forms did indeed still exist in modern times then he/she would want to prove it to the person challenging the claim?

The person who made that video series is none other than Big Al, and he's either a troll or completely delusional (probably both). Trying to argue with or correct him is a wasted effort.

Well he does have a reputation for this king of stuff.
What disturbs me though is that he has almost 60 subscribers, kind of sad thinking that 60 people actually agree with him.

I see, the theories and mindset appeared similar, but either way I would be interested in knowing how his mind works if he is not a troll, however going by his claims and lack of response it is blatantly obvious that he is, the thing that annoys me is that people like this do indeed exist.

Though besides the minor annoyance that this troll put up, I must admit it amused me if only for the few minutes that the discussion lasted so I can't consider it an entire waste of effort on my part.

OH YESSS!

Regarding how Spinosaurus would move on all fours, I know that the palms can't move from how they're positioned, but has anyone considered either A: having their fingers move to allow knuckle walking instead? Or B: Their hands laying on their sides, which CAN be done, in order for Spinosaurus to walk on all fours. I know there's a lot of debate on how exactly Spinosaurus walked ever since recently, but there has to be either of those two solutions as to how Spinosaurus walked or else this thing would've more than likely never left the water period.

The hypothesis that Spinosaurus was quadrupedal is on shaky ground these days, and I don't think its legs were so short that it couldn't leave the water at all (for the record the original skeletal suffered from scaling errors, the legs weren't actually THAT short). Though IMO it still probably ALMOST never left the water except to lay its eggs.

Anyway, why are you posting this here? Shouldn't this go in the Extinct Animal Questions topic?

I think the Knuckle Walking is the Most accepted more for the vQuad Spino right now.

Actually it doesn't, the researchers certified that everything was the real scale, confirmed by Mark Witton.

Sorry to bring big al up again, but he, well his views on the earth's past are very delusional, I'm about the only person from here he doesn't hate, though he is going to try a far less stupid idea relating to a fictional world filled with animals being invaded by talking dinosaurs, with voice actors akin to my planet of the animals youtube series, he specifically asked me to see if anyone here would want to help, though I warned him that you guys will probably refuse.
