What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Let's just stop this now, please.
Nomis, I ask you to stop offensive stuff like that, the fact some religious people may have offended you doesn't give you the right to offend all of them.

Yeah, I was just referring to people who think dinosaurs were the first living things out of sheer ignorance rather than out of religious belief.

What Nomis just said turned my heart black. I'm a christian as well. Can someone please close this topic because it looks like some atheists are plain evil. Someone please stop the argument.

No need to close this topic, Nomis was already given a verbal warn and everyone who tries to keep it going will get a real one.

While I can understand why you were offended (I probably would be too if I were a Christian), I think that's a bit of an extreme reaction TBH.

I go for a couple hours nap and suddenly things kick off in the paleontology section because people get mad at the beliefs of others.

Isn't that just annoying?

I was referring mainly to what happened in the last couple pages is all.

But it IS a general thing that DOES happen too often in paleontology related discussions. And neither side of the inevitable debate is excused.

Because probably it didn't.
We lost the only remains of the gigantic species, we habe no way to confirm the size, and it's commonly regarded as a cryptid lately.

He doesn't mean Amphicoelias literally didn't exist, just that we have no way of confirming whether it was really as big as claimed since the only remains were lost decades ago.
