out of several well preserved specimens only one showed evidence of a crest, which means not only was it most likely varying between species but perhaps also by intraspecies factors |

It's a recent discovery anyway, so I wouldn't really jump on any old Edmontosaurus reconstructions ... |

That's because most mummified Edmontosaurus are from E. annectens. E. regalis is known from barely any skin save for the crested mummy. Which brings me to my annoyance. Not sure if I said it before but anyway: It bothers me that species from the same habitat STILL don't fossilise in the same way. Trikes are more common than E. annectens in terms of fossil count. They are from the same habitat, and are more or less the same size... ish... sorta. Why do we have so many mummified Edmontosaurus and not trikes? And what about Ankylosaurus? That should be a piece of piss to mummify compared to the other things.

Didn't Edmontosaurus frequent wetter, more marshy habitats than Triceratops (could be wrong about this). Aquatic environments tend to preserve fossils better, so that could certainly be a contributing factor. I'm aware that the idea of hadrosaurs being aquatic is outdated by more than 30 years, but many species did still prefer swampy or floodplain environments IIRC. |

There was a lot of overlap. We know T. rex frequented Edmontosaurus habitat as well. First direct signs of T. rex actively preying on large herbivores came from healed bites on Edmontosaurus. Where are the T. rex mummies? Honestly, we're long overdue a T. rex mummy. The science NEEDS it. |

Yes, than we would know if T-rex had feathers. |

The world needs it. Let's face it, it's the most popularized extinct dinosaur ever. We humans are entitled to at least one mummy for all the worship we give to this animal. Come on, rexxy, leave just one. Please. ._. |

No we don't KNOW. We can postulate with reasonable clarity that it did. But certainty's the one thing we lack on the matter. And that's annoying... |

A T. rex mummy probably wouldn't preserve feathers anyway. What it MAY preserve, however, would be quill knobs or something else that we know could support feathers. |

Just so you know, he's Australian and I'm pretty sure he's popular among the YEC's there, more than in the U.S, but I could be wrong. Appreciate the stereotype by the way, always nice

What that he's only taken serious mostly in the south? That's not a stereotype. It's a generalization based on how nobody north of the mason Dixon line takes him seriously. A stereotype is saying something like Asians can't drive or blacks don't swim. |

I inferred by your tone that you were stereotyping the South as so many others seem to do: That everyone around here is a conservative YEC who refuses to listen to anyone else's arguments (And I know that not all of that was implied, it simply completes the stereotyping). I'm sure that there are YEC's in the North, just as there are atheists in the South. |
