What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Oh yes.
I was attacked by a swan once.
Let us say, there is a reason why I prefer feathered dinosaurs over scaly ones ;)
I'd rather be attacked by a swan than the 3m saltwater crocodile that tried to eat me when I was a child any day.

I at least can understand why the public believes the reptilian stereotype to be scarier than the scientifically accurate feathery creatures we know dinosaurs to be.
I'd just like to remind you that on the island of Malta, there were swans bigger then dwarf elephants. Ah yes, the Pleistocene, what a time to be alive!

How most paleofans repost the same things in this topic. The same exact things over and over.

@Yu, could you elaborate what do you not understand from my post? :L

Excuse me, I have Asperger, so I´m sometimes bad in understanding some things...
Also, sarcasm on the internet is harder to detect than in RL... :/

I'm not slow! That's just my moe!

I also have Aspergers syndrome, and it bothers me to no end when people try to use it as an excuse for something they've done

It should have been VERY obvious based on context alone, you were having a conversation with him, actually, it wasn't even sarcasm, Gorsh was saying that some people thought that way and meaning it in a negative light

I also have Aspergers, but I still have little trouble understanding sarcasm.

Still, Aspergers is a spectrum, and some have more difficulty than others. I don't think Yutyrannus was using it as an excuse (it's not like not understanding sarcasm is a crime), just explaining why he may not have understood.

@Nomis: That was directed at me, wasn't it?

How people think we know so so much stuff about dinosaurs when we still have a lot of things to discover.

To the point where they're willing to completely reject new evidence and research simply because it contradicts previous knowledge.

The lack of paleofans at my school.
It was so annoying always just be interested in dinosaurs by alone...
Due to that reason, I always thought I know almost everything about dinosaurs....
Later I found out that I knowd literally nothing -.-
In that time, I formed my favorite zitat:
"I don´t know everything about dinosaurs, because even dinosaurs don´t know everything about themself."

Today, I really know everything about dinosaurs x3
Nar, not really. I guess I would even fail naming more than 10 Pachycephalosaurians ^_^
But well, we always can learn something new ^^

We'll never know everything about dinosaurs, we'll probably never even know MOST things about dinosaurs unless we invent a time machine.
