People who ignore the fact that dinosaurian scales are stunted feathers and that ornithischian scales are basically identical to avian reticulae - and validate the expected patterns of "stunted" versus "normal" in known species with filamental integrument" - annoy me most. |

As pointed out by the article, turtle scutes are osteoderms (as opposed to bird scutes, which are flat keratin sheets, that revert into feathers under the right genetic triggers), whil squamate scales are structurally unique and dissimilar to most other scales. |

Some dinosaurs had osteoderms though, didn't they? |

Of course. Ankylosaurs, ceratopsians, et cetera. Pretty much every vertebrate group, from mammals to temnospondyls, has developed osteoderms at some point. |

At least some ceratosaurs also had them. |

All of our ceratosaur impressions show them IIRC. and i remember seeing somewhere atleast one kind of ceratosaurus had spines running down the back. Edited by Yi Qi, Feb 11 2015, 08:40 PM.

May I point something out? Dinosaurs can exist in creationism without coexisting with humans, on the third day creatures of the air and sea animals were made, so dinosaurs, which are birds, were made, a avian birds were made, and sea and sky reptiles were made on that day, and since we Christians don't know how long the days were back then the dinosaurs could have easily gone extinct before humans were created. I feel like I will be hated for posting this. Edited by Taurotragus, Feb 11 2015, 11:38 PM.

One thing that irritates me is how a lot of professional palaeobiologists and palaeo enthusiasts always treat Creationists like second-class citizens. We may not share the same views, but come on, at least they could show a little respect. Or even a little politeness. |

I think Treebeard was only complaining about certain fringe creationist views that don't even necessarily represent the majority, not about creationism in general. |
