The misconception that Brontosaurus was a chimaera. Nope, the name already existed a LONG time before the chimaera that ended up being associated with it came into being.

After reading it about the confusion seems to come from the fact they modeled a hypothetical skull after Camarasaurus.

if you search brontosaurus Jurassic Park on Google images you get lots of brachiosaurus
>:( people should know better, if it looks like bronto but has proportionally longer front legs and neck (also a head crest) than it is at-least distantly related but not the same animal.

in laymen eyes

Apatosaurus= Brontosaurus (weird how the meaning of this one kind of inverted recently)

Styracosaurus=Triceratops

theropod lacking a sail=T rex

t rex with feathers= 'thats a dinosaur?'

I guess this is something in general science that bugs me, but a lot of scientists or science enthusiasts(Mostly the latter group) have such big egos, thinking they know everything about a certain topic and their knowledge encompasses a greater area than that of others (Not being passive-aggressive to anyone on this board, you're all lovely people). Sometimes, people need to accept that they aren't always right or smarter than everyone else and will inevitably make mistakes. I make mistakes all the time, ridiculous ones at that (Exams...). Fine, it may be embarrassing, but if you brush it off the situation becomes a learning experience for everyone. Even experts make mistakes.

Speaking of egos, don't get me STARTED on creationists... Also, the term "Evolutionist" makes me cringe.

It's so cute when they try to disprove hard fact.

Seriously, it's adorable, it's like watching a baby trying to type a novel.
