I hate that games like ark tread into awesomebro territory instead of trying to break the mold that pop culture has put on dinosaurs. unlike saurian witch is one of the few games trying to be completely accurate. although prehistoric kingdom is catering to both popcultural depictions and scientific accuracy. |

Believe it or not, when these raptors appeared (long before the dinosaur renaissance or before we knew dinosaurs had feathers), they were top notch scientifically accurate, a little shrink wrapped sure, but for the 70s when we didn't knew about feathers in any non avian dinosaur, those were prime accurate, plus the author was among the first to hint them being more bird like in a mainstream book in contrast to the older, sluggish lizard like depictions. Though ironically, the author descended into madness and went to produce some of the worst travesties ever to be offensively called paleoart. The name of the author... David Peters. |

What really? That's Peters' work? Wow. He was good at palaeoart. Back on topic, Walking With Dinosaurs 3D. But only if you watch it with the sound on. I HIGHLY suggest watching it with the sound muted- it's so very pretty. |

Believe it or not, as crazy as it may sound now, in the old days back in the 70s Peters was actually a very good if not renowed paleoartist, who was extremely dedicated to accuracy if not progressively so, pushing around many of the ideas that would later be made more popular by the dinosaur renaissance, i recommend checking on some of his early work, its actually very good, aswell as this blog post, as for the whole story behind the rise and fall of David Peters. If anything the fact that he was so good and showed so much promise in the start of his career makes the whole odeal all the more sad. http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/world-must-ignore-reptileevolution-com/. You see, orcs were once elves, corrupted by darkness and evil, deformed and degenerated into a monstruous mockery of their former noble selves ;The same could be said about peters and his work really, a once promising, avant garde paleoartist with a bright future ahead and fantastic works to boot, de-evolved into a basement dwelling, tinfoil hat wearing lunatical (and passionately so) pseudoscientist who comes up with crackpot theories and conjures up "artistic" abominations (hell, just comparing peter's recent load of garbage with actual paleo art is enough to make me want to throw up.) that are as ugly and degraded as the afforementioned orcs of Middle Earth. |

I actually think that David Peters may had been into something with his theory that Dromeosaurids had their second and third hand finger attached to one another... Not so much for Eumaniraptorans but for some Microraptorines, I think it would make sense to have the wing attacking second finger alongside the third finger packed together so the support for the primaries would be more resistent. He was quite a gifted paleoartist which put more speculation in it's work that most contemporaries while usually not being overly bold (usually, he depicted Quetzalcoatlus climbing trees) until 1997-1999 when he became a Paleo-Art Cuckloolander Edited by babehunter1324, Jul 24 2015, 03:35 AM.

I searched through the article to find the whole reason of this folly, but I couldn't keep reading further after that paragraph that said Velociraptors terrorize farmers in Puerto Rico and protect the Ark's remains in Ararat... Edited by Komodo, Jul 24 2015, 11:42 PM.
