What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Well no, pointing out those differences is mere observation, not racism. Clearly. A useful one for reasons you pointed out. I'd argue it's less a paleontological issue and more a matter of forensics.

Segregation happens when they start dividing what we know to be Homo sapiens into multiple taxa based on those morphological differences, and then start rambling on about how some are "more evolved/advanced" than the rest.

Hypotheses that have been repeatedly disproven and yet STILL pop up every now and again (flightless azhdarchids and trunked sauropods are two good examples).

Especially when things like those and other outdated theories end up being featured in medias that get a lot of attention from the public, which thus end up spreading false infos.

For example: Planet Dinosaur featuring venomous Sinornithosaurus at least two years after the hypothesis was disproven. If it were sci-fi then I'd be ok with their using the hypothesis to make the animal "kewler", but PD is supposed to be a documentary!

Honestly I wouldn't want that to happen even in non-scientific medias unless it was an Asylum movie or something people don't take seriously.
Remember that JP is the main reason we are stuck with scaly dinosaurs.

At least in JW they kind of justified the looks of the animals, even though that piece of dialogue seem to fly over the head of most viewers.

That because honestly it was just a line thrown there with little emphasis on it. Granted, it's one of the few things I liked in the movie, but I think only hardcore fans who read the novels might have got the true meaning of it, I fear that for most casual viewers it didn't have a bigger effect than a Stan Lee cameo in a Marvel Movie (at least even people who aren't into Marvel are starting to recognize it as a gang).

Considering they didn't even specify exactly what was wrong with the dinosaurs (just that they "would look quite different" if their genes were pure), I think that line was just an easter egg for the more paleo-savvy viewers.

People who think that feathered dinosaurs are just speculation are annoying.

The fact that some people who learn I'm interested in dinosaurs have asked if I "believe" in them, which doesn't really make any sense. Yes, of course I believe in them because it's an objective scientific fact that they existed!

Im still annoyed that some people, even my teachers believe that at one pont humans and dinosaurs lived together. Give me a break

Once again part of the ZT2 Community.

T. Rex vs Spino debates started by trolls. I obviously love the Spino and know it will put up a good fight, but Tyrannosaurus Rex will obviously win.

There's nothing obvious in there, except that making dinosaurs fight is plain stupid.

It depends. In a movie it can certainly be cool, but people talking about which dinosaur would win in a fight as though it were serious science? Yes, that's stupid!
