Agreed. Before you decide to question evolution, Aardvark, at least get some idea of how it actually works. Because discrediting a theory you have little knowledge will just make you look foolish in the eyes of others. I was agreeing with Sheather's post, not with Aardvark who posted like 2 seconds before me. Edited by CyborgIguana, Oct 25 2013, 08:58 PM.

Oh my.... um.. I honestly don't know where to start, but there are plenty of books and webpages explaining evolution if you care to look for unbiased sources. |

I'm sorry. I go to a Christian school, and this chapter in our science book is about evolution, and I'm just a little confused, I'm just trying to get some answers or your explanations for certain things. |

Also, I've never read anywhere that Darwin was a former pastor. I suspect that's something your "science" book made up. |

Well for sure, I can almost guarantee that a chapter on evolution in a Christian school will most certainly not be teaching evolution as evolutionists believe it is. I have seen textbooks from such schools, they are very inaccurate, IMO designed in every way to make evolution seem wrong... or written by people who just have no idea what it is. I think both are pretty likely. |

Frankly, even if everything you said about Darwin WAS true, I'd still doubt that evolution was false. Why? Because in Darwin's legacy was a myriad of further evidence for the theories of evolution and natural selection, from many transitional fossils to very accurate tests done by acclaimed scientists that have proven evolution on several occasions. I'm pretty sure evolution has even been observed in action among various micro-organisms. I don't mean to test your faith, but I just want you to know just what you're up against as a Christian.

And even if Darwin himself says that he might've been wrong, that doesn't necessarily mean he really was. Anyway, back on topic. What really irks me is when people shrink-wrap dinosaurs. The poor things are starving. |

Yes, only appropriate if the dinos are actually starving. Also the fact that the public is 20 years behind with their knowledge. Edited by Meerkatmatt2, Oct 26 2013, 01:22 AM.

I have to admit that you're significantly smarter than a lot of young-earth creationists I've met. Instead of blindly fighting the evidence, you're willing to accept it once you've learned bit more about it.

All of-course not true, and fabricated by creationist sources. I believe this myth originated from Ray Comfort, Darwin's daughter died after his discoveries regarding evolution, not before. You can take your religion on faith, but it is very important you don't take your facts on faith, especially if you profess them with authority. A quick google fact check would have disputed this one in seconds, it might seem very shocking how much they will conceal from you when you are privately educated. Regarding your curiosities about evolution, I would gladly answer questions via pm if you are still confused and curious. (seeing as its likely off topic to discuss it here) |

As far as I know, Darwin was indeed trained as a pastor (in Cambridge University) but his move to agnosticism wasn't necessarily connected to a delusion by grief... Lol at the outdated gorilla-suit raptors :p Edited by Even, Oct 26 2013, 11:20 AM.
