What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

How the Dakotaraptor paper didn't give credit to Emily Willoughby for the art.
The lack of credit for palaeoart is really a huge problem in palaeontology - it seems like half the papers and museums out there simply don't bother with it.

Sadly the Dimorphodon in Ark is quite OP. Most of the time in the game a single Dimorphodon can quickly slaughter you. And a whole flock can annihilate a herd of Paraceratherium in seconds without a single Dimorphodon dying >_< -.-
Bah, they are fun as all get out. Nothing beats having a small army of them follow you while you ride a frog dressed up like a witch, and crackle madly as you give the wildlife the stinkeye and have your legions descend upon them.

Formerly Dilophoraptor

Utahraptor

Dakotaraptor

both awesome and large raptors....

....and they are both named after states
Why are both of America's described giant raptors named after their state?

Because Raptor=Eagle='Murica.
And if you take into account how America loves oversized stuff :P ...

Well, there have been some Coelurosaurians restored as all-American birds :P That's literally the most American bird I can think of:

My lack of inspiration to draw a Yi qi.
Especially frustrating if you consider I made a Dakotaraptor drawing the same day I learned about it (not that it was a great piece of art ...)

My lack of inspiration/motivation to draw anything lately (this is paleontology-related because extinct animals are just about all I draw).

I have a similar problem; I'm full of inspiration and ideas but I also can't draw anything I like and I'm severely dissatisfied with all of my writing.

Mesozoica.

Mesozoica is what annoys me about paleontology.

Millions of years from now they'll be calling any animal that's been around since the Cenozoic a mammal.
