When the only accurate thing about The Good Dinosaur is the potential for large therian mammals to exist alongside dinosaurs (and Bison latifrons), you know it's not going to set a big example.

It annoys me when people flip out at inaccuracies of Disney animated movies.

Marine biologists didn't freak out when they didn't include the weird quirks of clownfish sex-changes or the fact that you had a great white that swore off fish it naturally wouldn't eat anyway (since they eat seals and stuff).

Though that one time biologists freaked out at the bad press hyenas got from Lion King? That was funny.

Not to mention these animals in their respective movies talked, and interacted with other species in unusually friendly/intellectual ways.

Point is, we don't acknowledge inaccuracies of modern animals in such movies. Why is it always a big deal when they get dinosaurs wrong?

because with modern day animals there is an accurate base to work off of, unlike with dinosaurs witch most often have their cartoon versions based off of an inaccurate base thus why it can be annoying.
regardless, you have a better point.

The fact that some people are so insistent on Nanotyrannus being a separate genus from T. rex. Why do they even care? It's not like Nanotyrannus is particularly unique or interesting.

Plus there are other confirmed dwarf tyrannosaurids out there, if that's all you're worried about.

Dakotaraptor removed any lasting chance of Nanotyrannus being a thing other than it being a juvi Tyrannosaurus

But people want something to fight against T-rex without having to pull something out of spacetime portals.
