What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Those cards are actually hilarious, pretty sure they're just a parody of B-grade monster movies involving dinosaurs.

Haven't even BANDits come to accept by now that birds are descended from maniraptorans? These days they just deny that maniraptors are theropods (which is equally stupid but at least they're not COMPLETELY shutting out the evidence anymore).

Now if that Dakotaraptor was a silhouette like in a size comparison, I could tolerate the baldness but this is ridiculous.

One thing that annoys me is when instead of being skin wrapped paleoartists depict animals with obnoxious amounts of meat like this picture for example. Now I do realize everyone is entitled to a depiction of extinct life but this is almost to strange

It's from All Yesterdays though and it's by John Conway, so that makes it awesome, regardless of how strange it is.

The obnoxious amount of meat on that Parasaurolophus was deliberately done purely to make a point in All Yesterdays.

Parasaurolophus is doing how the cows do.

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

Except that Hadrosaur definitely moved on hind legs regularly and with those amount of meat, I don't think the thing will be able to rear up even a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the concept of All Yesterday and that pic does go along with the concept nicely, but the pic is most likely wrong. We have to look at the behavior and body mechanism of the animal as well. You just can't find a depiction of kangaroo with incredibly heavy front to be accurate.

Well I decided to look at Mesozoica again, I regret everything. At least ARK can claim artistic liberty, Mesozoica tries to copy JP in almost every model and when they do have feathers they look glued on. I can at least say ARK animals don't look like their starving. The worst come from Robert Fabani though, he completely disregards anatomy and evidence in order to create movie monsters.

Hell, even JP tried to adhere SOMEWHAT to paleontological evidence (the first movie, anyway). Most of the Mesozoica designers (UT2 aside) seem just not to care.

No coincidence then, that Fabani is also the same moron behind the violation of science ethics when it came to Dakotaraptor's public announcements.
