yeah... they botched that genus up bad, the ting shouldn't even be able to fly with the way they designed the wings. though the reason the the dimetrodon urked me more was because they took what was basically a mammal and made it into a lizard. Edited by Paleop, Jan 18 2016, 10:48 AM.

Hasn't almost every mainstream depiction of Dimetrodon done that? I mean I know it's inaccurate, but it's not like ARK is the first. |

At least it gets its skull pretty decent in shape.... The Pteranodon's skull looks like something from a love child of hornbill and a Tapejarid... With the freakin TEETH. |

They also correctly placed it in a fresh water biome, instead of the desert that basically everything else (especially documentaries) loves to drop it in. |

I can at least give them props for knowing what Tanystropheus was in the first place. Last time I checked the only other toys of it were one from Safari and the original JP one. Not paleontology (anthropology) but it's close enough:

Well paleoanthropology, so close enough... I'm not sure if the skull is a real fossil and not a cast... I found it very weird that you will just randomly found a nearly complete H. neanderthalensis (?) skull lying in the strata, plus if it was a real skull he would get fired for ever and for good reason. |

Normally I like the way ARK presents its prehistoric creatures. Sure, the models aren't accurate very often, but I find the designs to be appealing. However, I don't like when they make the animals overly inaccurate or make them look like they shouldn't be able to live. Take the Pteranodon for example: the wings wouldn't allow for flight. (There's more reasons it's not good, but this is my least favorite part) Their idea on sizing, however, bugs me. A LOT. I mean, if this is accurate... (The dragon is horrendously large to begin with.) Spoiler: click to toggle I really hate the way ARK's devs tend to supersize things, and I hope the new Sauropod doesn't end up that large. The Giga's size already irks me enough. And the way they scaled Beelzebufo... ._. Not to mention the other normally small creatures they increased in size. At least they didn't make the Megalodon overly large. It might even be on the smaller side, even. ![]() NOTE: This is not an official size comparison. It's not made by the devs, so it probably has problems. I hope I didn't bother anyone by saying I like the designs of ARK's animals. I know some people get fired up about it, heh. .-.
