What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

The Megalodon's size is perfectly fine, no need to worry there indeed. Same with the Trike, really. As for the scale, yeah it has issues (rex is rearing up but the person who made it didn't take that into account, Quetz is a little small, etc). I do hate how ARK scaled things, making some things overly large while keeping others normal sized. I get it with some things to make them rideable, but the rex doesn't need to be 4 times its normal size. It also makes the island look smaller than it actually is.

Especially when the dragon itself is LITERALLY this big, (Terrible pic by me) and they're adding a Sauropod that will be the same size as, if not larger than, the dragon. Hopefully that person's judgement is wrong, but the dossier speaks otherwise. Plus, that theropod-looking thing in the dossier probably isn't a giga according to the size comparison. Let's hope no carnivores get that big...

I'm sorry but this is literally just the JP raptor with some "feathers" on the arms and tail.
Really? My signature bothers you that much that you posted it here? Its my own personal signature if you don't like it than there no need to post about it here. There a whole other topic for that -.-

For all of you complaining about ARK being wrong, there's a bunch of in game lore behind it. Besides, it never claimed to be a documentary, it's a fantasy game that has extinct animals in it. Minecraft and dinosaurs, basically.

finding any good measurements for any of the Hell Creek formation's fish is a pain in the but. actually, finding images of the fossils themselves is quite a chore to.

particularly the sturgeons.

Actually, what annoys me in paleontology is just how easy it is to undermine if you're a fossil dealer or collector.

Also I think what he's perceiving as "small teeth" are correctly-sized teeth sheathed by lips so that they look smaller.

the general lack of lips in dinosaurs is an often overlooked, but aggravating phenomena.
there is evidence after-all.

this is one of the best t rex models in documentaries, but why no lips? that's literally the only real flaw with it.
(although it could use/needs more feathers)
