Well hey, at least he doesn't dismiss the Yixian fossils as fakes, as some young-earth creationists/BANDits insist on doing.

I was talking to some people online about Spinosaurus and how it truly looked, my opinion was to wait on more evidence due to how a good chunk of Spino is often supplemented with Iritator and some guy used that as evidence for a bipedal lifestyle. At least I was able to somehow keep it from going to a full on fight.

Once again part of the ZT2 Community.

I had a brief fight with someone on youtube who thought Leptictidium was related to carnivorous mammals like seals, cats, dogs, etc..

I just had to correct this person's ideas on something that isn't related to any living mammal.

I'm disappointed that the universal love of dinosaurs pretty much died after the mid 2000's. I remember my elementary school library being chock full of books about dinosaurs and other extinct life forms, but when I volunteered there recently, nearly the entire shelf had been replaced with other subjects. It's extremely rare to come across a person in the general public who can name a dinosaur besides Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, or Velociraptor. Not to mention the fact that most people think Jurassic Park's representation of the Velociraptor is factual. People in my college biology class who are in my age bracket looked at me funny when I was the only person there who knew what a Diplodocus was, and that upsets me. Dinosaurs are freakin' cool, man!

It annoys me that Sirindhorna has next to no good artwork other than a head reconstruction. C'mon palaeoartists, Sirindhorna's got a complete skeleton reconstruction, why not take advantage of that? I know I am for both a drawing and something else, more ZT2 related ;)

I think the interest unfortunately largely died as more and more people found out that dinosaurs really didn't look anything like popular depictions.

Well, it was only discovered recently and unfortunately for it, it was not the biggest/smallest/weirdest of anything, and it's not a huge megacarnivore, so media tends to overlook it. Same with many other genera that were found recently.

That really ticks me off, the fact that the media doesn't give a *dirty word* about anything that isn't different, big, or T.rex looking. It's utter *dirty word again*. DOES EVERY GOOD PALAEONTOLOGY DISCOVERY HAVE TO BE LIKE A T.REX OR A GIANT SAUROPOD OR A TRICERATOPS LOOKALIKE OR A WEIRD DINOSAUR :implode:

In the midsts of a YouTube argument about whether spinosaurus was bipedal or quadrupedal. This guy supports his theory with "a real article" that he refuses to show the link to.

TBH all we know is it had relatively short legs, it IS still debatable whether it was quadrupedal.

I think that it's possible Spinosaurus may have been quadrupedal, it's very hard for scientists to make a decision about it though, mainly because our most complete skeleton was destroyed during a bombing in WWII before it was even completely analyzed (our pettiness as a species knows no bounds). I personally think that Spinosaurus was primarily bipedal, but may have adopted a quadrupedal stance occasionally, just because the arms were so well developed for a theropod during that era. I also think that Spinosaurus may have had a fleshy hump instead of a sail because the "spines" look so much like the raised vertebrae in bison, contributing to their prominent shoulder hump. In any case, we don't really have enough evidence to be certain, and I think that taking our own creative license on Spinosaurus would be best. At least one of us has to be correct, yeah? I think quadrupedal Spinosaurus looks really cool, and I have no problem with people who pick either side of the debate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the only thing we have of Spino's front limbs was a finger ?
Not counting reconstructions based on Baryonyx and other relatives.
