Yes humans being idiotic, if I saw a Rex running down main street, I will be hijacking a car (likely a truck) and drive off or just take a few hits at the Rex's ankles, then that sucker is done. That or I use my shotgun and aim for the vulnerable parts like the heart or the eyes then that sucker is dead for sure.

Also if my girlfriend or her cousins are standing still I will pick them up and run, and I know I can out run most things that chase me most of them being deadly female warriors (Do not ask)....
I'm sorry, but...

Twenty to Twenty one I think, i never really pay attention to my age really, (Not even joking, no really I am being Serious).

But anyways yes I will really think about shooting or running down a rampaging Tyrannosaurus, really I might. But still there is a bigger chance I run than stay to fight a rampaging five ton behemoth predator with jaws to crush bone.

Also I never smoked a thing unless you count burning piles of leaves and such then yes I breathed in smoke once.

Can't believe this is the same guy I used to idolize for his photography...
But in all seriousness, why would you want to shoot a T. rex in the face? On-topic: The way Megalodon is portrayed in the media, a particularly excruciating example coming from the Meg series. Saying it all is too big for one mouthful, so I'll just sum it up with a quote from TV Tropes:
Quote:

While they aren't about dinosaurs, Steve Alten's Meg novels will make paleontology enthusiasts cringe. The opening scene of the first book has a T. rex chasing some hadrosaurs into the water, where it is eaten by a Megalodon explicitly stated to be twice its size. * sigh* Carcharodon Megalodon did not live during the Cretaceous (the giant shark appeared 47 million years after the dinosaurs died out) and it would not have been the top oceanic predator if it had lived in the Cretaceous (the big Mosasaurs would have been serious competition).

As for the comment relating to the mosasaurs, Alten does have other giant carnivorous marine reptiles show in his series; Kronosaurus (Pliosaurs, aka; short-necked plesiosaurs). Only when they show up; they are not only PREY to the Megalodon (Pliosaurs were known to have eaten sharks quite often, judging by their remains and quite a few were larger than 'Meg') but they have somehow evolved gills. That's TWO inaccuracies of nature in one!
Alten states that the kronosaurs were at the top of the oceanic food chain...until Megalodon evolved, and that the "cold-blooded reptiles" were forced down to the warm geothermal areas on the ocean bottom. Megalodon was cold-blooded too. In fact, one of the most popular theories as to why they died out was that they couldn't follow whales to the poles during the Ice Age and starved. And a new study suggests that plesiosaurs like Kronosaurus had a more or less stable body temperature. So, these Megalodons just showed up in the Cretaceous and overpowered all of the very large marine reptiles with their ferocious awesomeness? Yes, sharks are badass, but this is pushing Villain Sue territory! Alten wouldn't be the only one to greatly exaggerate Megalodon's size (the most realistic estimates place it at 50-60 feet long at maximum, Alten goes above and beyond 80-90 feet) and place it in the Dinosaurs era. It seems these two traits go hand in hand when attempting to write fiction for these things (yeah, because a shark as large as most whales isn't interesting enough, they need to insert Dinosaurs).

The Meg books aren't bad, from what I've heard, but it seems like Steve Alten has an intense hatred for dinosaurs and marine reptiles.

I don't know what you are talking about. If I saw a T. rex, I'd drive away from it as fast as possible. However, shooting it may be something I'd do, but not something I'd do immediately.

For the Megalodon thing, did the person who wrote that say there were pliosaurs larger than Megalodon? If so, he/she needs to stop watching WWD. I also think that Megalodon wouldn't die out from fighting other predators if it were to somehow teleported into the Cretaceous, as it was larger than any of them, but because it's hunting style probably wouldn't have worked out too well against the prey in the oceans at that time.

Anyways, I'm shocked Livyatan hasn't really appeared in pretty much any form of media. I thought that a mega-predator sperm whale would attract a lot of attention.

The thing is, I think Livyatan is actually smaller than a sperm whale, as seen here:

Smaller, yes, but far more badass. At least sperm whales don't usually eat other whales.

That isn't what I would call an accurate scale, considering the Pliosaurus Funkei is longer than the Megalodon, however Livyatan might have been slightly smaller than a bull sperm whale.

So far, the only depiction of Livyatan in the media I know of is Precious from Ice Age 4, and he was far from a badass superpredator.

Off topic a second; Because if I had to protect my friends and family then I will be the distraction against the Rex. Plus really I do not like Tyrannosaurus as much as some others I mean Gorgo or something there is a 20% I would aim to shoot it to death but rex is a 50 50 chance.

On topic; I really think that extinct whales seen by the media to them are underrated than a hungry Tyrannosaurus who would fight large dinosaurs on land without mercy would be something the media would most likely depict in their extinct animal shows because in almost every show dealing with dinosaurs the "mighty" Tyrannosaurs would appear when a extinct whale is almost non existent.

and why would you want a whale to appear in a dinosaur show ?

Off Topic: and i don't see why your reaction would change if you hate or not the animal. no matter if i was attacked by a monster pike or a huge evil catfish of Doom, i would still run (especially because it's not like the animal is staying there to be hit by you)
