What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

Also frankly TSL deserves to be ripped off since it was blatantly a scam. Not that The Isle wasn't sold the models fair and square.

So on quiz-up there is a question that reads: What dinosaur's name mean "High Spine Lizard"?

The choices are: A) Hypacrosaurus B) Lesothosaurus C) Acrocanthosaurus and D) Velociraptor

Leave it to them to answer "D" Come on! that's basic elementary knowledge that D would be incorrect atleast answer "A" if you don't know

When dinosaur names are written in lower case, like stegosaurus or tyrannosaurus. They are names, names require capital letters, like Spain, Fred or Dublin.

I'm used to seeing horrendous depictions of pterosaurs by now but...does it have a thyreophoran's head?

IDK about you guys, but something that really bugs is when people 'name-drop' dinosaurs because they think it'll make them seem more knowledgeable. Like, no, anyone can google a list of dinosaur genera and find a less well known dinosaur to talk about... Just being able to look up an obscure dinosaur doesn't suddenly make you a dinosaur expert >.> the amount of times I've seen comments and posts like 'omg Amygdalodon is my most favourite dinosaur, bet you haven't heard of it!' or 'I swear I'm the only one whose favourite dinosaur is Kaijiangosaurus!' is starting to annoy me

I must admit, it's kind of hilarious though when they do that with what they think is an obscure dinosaur and it's one that everyone's heard of :P

Those are two of my all-star favourites actually. And nobody I've ever known has said that sort of thing. It's usually some made-up dinosaur like "Conf**kisaurus" (guess which bird they actually mean) or they'll just do this "The cat's my favourite dinosaur".

I guess you and I watch different types of videos then, I see it all the time unfortunately >.<

I've never heard people do that with Confuciusornis, I mostly hear it about Fukuisaurus, Fukuiraptor, Fukuititan or Fukuivenator if anyone ever does (which thankfully is rare for me)

Nowadays the only videos I watch are Monster Hunter gameplays and songs XD

But anyway, speaking of Kaijiangosaurus, it annoys me how underappreciated many theropods are. You find next to no art of guys like him, or Cruxicheiros, Duriavenator, Piveteausaurus or even Magnosaurus

Payment for the amount of prehistoric life unappreciated in favour of famous theropods.

I'm guessing you're gonna hate me for this, but it wasn't? What exactly was it then?
