Yeah, I think the movies should've stuck more to the template of the books. ;)
Ohmygod, could you imagine how awesome it would be to see Grant kill the Raptors using poisoned eggs like he does in the book? But discussing the movies, I recently saw Jurassic Park in 3D, and I thought it was fantastic. And Sheather, you can't blame the movie for making animals that look ridiculous by today's standards, after all, they didn't even think the prospect of the T. rex and raptors being feathered was possible.

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

But they knew Velociraptor wasn't 8 feet tall. ;)

And when making the sequels, they knew about velociraptor feathers.

Agreed. Those ugly quills they glued to the heads of the JP3 raptors are NOT feathers!

On another note, bald dinosaurs until recently would be acceptable since knowing the extent of feathering is a fairly recent thing, but according to one book I have from 1969 that mentions furry and endothermic "pterodactyls", the fact they are still sometimes portrayed as bald is rather irritating to me. I mean, we supposedly knew this over 40 years ago but still don't portray them properly.

IIRC, they only followed the books with on that matter.

And to change the raptors from scaly and lizard-like to feathered animals would be rather far-fetched, especially because they were created with frog-DNA.

It's because to the average human being pterosaurs are so boring that they really don't give a damn how they should look.

And also has anyone ever seen that show "Dinosaur Train?"

It's on our local non-profit channel, I don't know where else it's shown, but it's a dinosaur show aimed at little children and it's very educational overall except... everything is completely bald and it's extremely annoying.

The only part of the book that I really kind of disliked was the raptor den, but it hardly took up any of the book. :P

It did have a feathered Velociraptor, at least. But I get sick to my stomach just looking at the Pteranodons on that show.

It did?

I couldn't get past the goofy orange Troodon; and the bipedal blue bald Pteranodons are pretty bad too. xD

At the times the book were written, every single Dromaeosaur was named "Velociraptor". They're named Velociraptor antirrhopus in the books.
Crichton, desite their lacks of feathers, is always comparing them to birds.

If I recall there was a semi-feathered oviraptor on that show as well, but it had these wierd feathers that looked awful and was hot pink.

Unfortunately I'm not XD
Ill try to find a picture of it. The one I saw had a solid hot pink color. At least Ruby had some different markings. Plus its beak and face were yellow.
