That's another thing how just because we don't know dinosaurs' exact colorations people say they can be anything. It's still VERY unlikely anything big and either a predator or prey would be pink or bright blue. |

I loved the first JP movie. Is one of my favorites, even with their inaccurancies. I read both books, second book was more boring than the first one, but still awesome. I loved the first book but i also like the movie. The special effects in JP are awesome Sheather so the dinosaurs are not "terrible". Actually they are pretty epic. You don't have to see it as an informative and educational documentary. Is a science fiction movie. I agree the kids are anoying but when JP came out i was younger than Tim and i was obsessed with dinosaurs so i relate to him while watching the movie. The inacuracies about the velociraptor in the first movie were intentional. Spielberg like the name but not the way the real velociraptor look and he loved Deynonichus, so he decided he wanted their Velociraptor to have the size of Deynonichus / Utharaptor but keep the name of the velociraptors. |

Despite the inaccurate details, I think Dinosaur Train and Dino Dan are the only two half-decent dinosaur shows available to preschoolers. |

The problem with being too educated about dinosaurs is you can't enjoy any movie featuring them anymore

Agreed, I miss the days when I could just be happy to see a feathered raptor at all, instead of complaining that the feathers didn't look right. |

My dislike of JP may have to do with having not seen it until I was 12, after seeing Dinosaur Planet and all of the other shows with semi-accurate raptors so that the JP ones just looked awful to me. |

Well something that annoys me is young Tim and old Lexy, they were way better in the book, and I realy identified myself with Tim (Book's one), also, the book's Wu was way beter (Yay for being slashed alive )Also I found the Second book equal to the first one (Yay for Levine being, well, YAY for Levine being Levine )

Levine is awesome, I don't know why they decided to leave him out of the movie. |

Yes that could be the thing. I still love the movie even when i know that the dinosaurs are really inacurate for today standars and current knowledge that we have about them. I really don't care if dinosaurs are portrayed accurate in works of fictions, i only care about that when i'm watching something that is meant to be educational like a documentary. The main theme in JP was the danger of the abuse of the bioingeniring (or how ever you write that word), not about the dinosaurs themself. Plus is mostly an action / sci-fy movie/book that focus on ethical dilemas more than in the prehistoric creatures themself, even if they are an important part of the plot. I watched JP when i was about 5 and i still watch it every time i see it on TV (and i even bought the DVD years ago). I think is a great movie and Spielberg is an amazing director. The special effects are superb (even today) and the soundtrack is one of the best soundtrack of the history of cinema (praise to John Williams for that). I guess for me it represents something completly different that is does for you because of the age difference, i understand that, but there is imposible to deny that is a an excelent movie. The sequels... not really. The second was ok until the part where they put a T.rex terrorizing LA and the third was just dreadful (and not because of the inacurancies, it was just a terrible, pointless movie). Edit: I hated Levine character actually I think he was so cocky, childish and selfish... it really irritates me. Sarah on the other hand was much cooler in the book, same with Ian.

Well you know JP was quite accurate twenty years ago. We have been evolving with our knowledge in terms of dinosaur discoveries so we know now a lot better then 20 years ago. Thats why I see the movies as ones with a great story line and not because of its inaccuracies because they werent advanced when the movie came out |

Actually not to start an argument, but there were a couple of things in JP that weren't accurate on purpose because of what the director wanted. The velociraptor being one example. The dilophosaurus spitting venom was another one. But the book was written in the eighties so, yes back then Chricton didn't have all the info that we have today and his dinosaurs were as accurate as possible... but we don't have to forget that he was a doctor and a writter not a paleontologist, and that as a writter he had the right to make their dinos like he wanted to be (artistic license if you want). |

Yeah you're true even with his knowledge he created a plausible park for his time and maybe for the audience that we have today too. Only dinofan would recognize this faults. But mayb we can look at it it this way: He re-created the dinosaurs with MOST of the dino so some things may be different from the real ones because of that thing |

I love Dinosaur Planet. Even today it is still really accurate, & it is one of the films that really made me love feathered dinosaurs, although I still remain skeptical that some of the larger theropods had feathers. |
