What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

I cannot stand depictions of dinosaurs with broken wrists.
I second this! Perhaps the only reason dinosaurs in fiction tend to be so noisy is because they're actually howling in pain thanks to those sadistic artists snapping their wrists! xD

Alright! You got me! I'm not buying it, but you all seem so convinced, and my "feeble" arguments aren't going to change any minds. I may post questions in the future, but for now, I believe evolution is unreal.

And broken, pronated hands, GOD. Save me.

When people go overboard with feathers and draw every single dinosaur to have feathers. I dunno, it's just that to me, most dinosaurs that aren't coelorosaurs look better with scales.

The way Jack Horner is so despised when, all in all, he's not so bad a guy compared to some paleontologists. David Peters is bat$h!t insane, and yet he gets completely off the hook by the mainstream paleo community.

That's because Peters studies a group that the public frankly doesn't care what it looks like or how it behaves, and Horner always targets the most popular dinosaurs (T. rex, Triceratops, Spinosaurus).

While this was delivered in humorous manner, it's actually quite an annoying rule. Even the new 'WWD' 3D movie has some of their maniraptors lacking proper arm feathering (and its' 'bird' wings look like a second manus attached to the wrist at first glance).

I'm sorry, but....

After ALL we said, you still don't see that evolution is real. I'm quite disappointed.
I know this is off topic, but hey, that's my video ;D

Aardvark, I say this with all the respect in the world to you, but you're clearly uneducated on this subject. Before you make claims about something at leas make sure you know what you're talking about. And yes, this means reading books, wikipedia pages, etc. about evolution. If you only get your information from people who oppose evolution, then you won't get far at all. I'm not saying you shouldn't read information from people who oppose it, but you should at least read information from people who defend it.

But to be frankly honest here, you're 13. It's normal that you don't known everything and know every little piece of information about it. So really, I don't think anyone blames you for not-knowing stuff. Whether you educate yourself is up to you of course. :)

You will respect my authoratah.

You can't have an opinion about something that you know no factual information about. And so, no matter what you say, your opinion doesn't matter. That's my reasoning. Ardvark therefore doesn't have any opinion. And anyway, we should ignore him. ;D

Yeah, agree with the arm feathers. They just did that to make it look good, but the other way, I think, looks better xD

It's my personal opinion that I've yet to see a single dinosaur that looks better bald than floofy.

Cryolophosaurus

Deinonychus

Protoceratops

Well, actually I would prefer the Protoceratops to has less feather, maybe only some shorter ones on their back and then numerous quills at the hips? I don't think desert animal need such fluff because it would be a mess trying to cross a sand dune with that amount of fluff.

African crested porcupines, they live in very hot climates, and are both very bristly and pretty fluffy.

Although I actually think the animal depicted there is a hypothetical boreal species; Still it illustrated my point. :3 I really wanted a fluffy sauropod but couldn't find one. :<

It would be more possible for boreal specie, but for Protoceratops species in Mogolia, I don't see why they should have such enormous fluff. :P
