What annoys you about paleontology?; Rant on about moronic theories, complaints, or just animals that annoy you.

So is there any evidence that this thing was a "gore king" Did it perhaps try to gore it's prey when hunting? Or was it just named that because it sounded cool?

So does the paleontological community. As far as we can tell, it most likely used its powerful jaws to crush prey in the manner of most tyrannosaurids. So yes, it was most likely chosen because the name sounded cool.

Our school has ( two weeks or so ) dinosaurs on the schedule, but they are taught accurately to a 1957 time chart ... ( pronated hands, no feathers, aquatic Brachiosaurs, tail dragging and totally upright posture are just some few of the abominations )

Considering the map in our classroom still features European countries before WW2, I'm not surprised at all xD

Call them out on their BS.
I've tried that on the occasions where my science teacher has talked about dinosaurs. He just insists against my word that he's right.

Anytime toothless wing (Pteranodon) is restored with teeth. Because yes, toothless apparently means tons of teeth. >_<

While not exactly an annoyance, I always feel sorry for the Allosaurus specimen nicknamed Big Al when I see a picture of him online or in a book. While he may not have lived or died exactly the way he was shown to in WWD, his skeleton shows that he very clearly had a rough life. At least now he rests in peace at the University of Wyoming.
