The Dinofanboy Part of the fanbase, not those Paleofans that are genuinley intrested in the scientific side of the science, but those who are more interested in who would win in a fight between spinosaurus and t.rex than anything relating to actual paleontology. unlike the "Paleofans" who keep very upto date with scientific theories and evidence, and know that these are animals, not monsters. the only person (Above the age of thirteen) that was intrested in dinosaurs I have met were 1: volunteers working on fossil preperation (Free fossil volunteer work everybody, but it's really tedious) 2: a professor at my school, who now has retired, great man, very interesting fellow, but he seriously believed in the mammals ate dinosaur eggs hypothesis.( even though many mammal and marine species also died off.) 3: a vollunteer at the zoo i worked in, as a volunteer. really nice guy and knew a fair bit about dinosaurs, but (Paraphase) "T.rex had a Mohawk of feathers because someone drew it online" he didn't know about speculation in paleoscience.

I'm considering sitting by my window in the light of a full moon one night and summoning (in a creepy whispering voice) giant azhdarchids to brutally kill anyone who calls a pterosaur either a "flying dinosaur", "bird", or "pterodactyl". Edited by CyborgIguana, Jan 15 2014, 08:16 PM.

Now everyone hate me for this, but I see pterodactyl the way someone calls a tiger a big cat or a horse an ungulate. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

I suppose it could be used as an informal term to describe the pterodactyloid pterosaurs, but the public has grown far too accustomed to the term IMO. EDIT: I have to admit I'll actually miss Touhou a little. His epic "arguments" were hilarious, and he didn't even realize how absolutely insane and demented he (or perhaps "it") sounded. I agree SO MUCH! They seem to think that the most important goal of modern paleontology is to discover the true king of the dinosaurs, when in reality the very concept of a "dinosaur king" only exists in their tiny little heads! |

Blame people behind calling T.rex "King Tyrant Lizard" instead of something more badass like Manospondylus or Deinodon

The fact that I've been told by "professionals" at a museum, that all theropods were carnivorous, with no exceptions. Explain theriznosaurs and ornithomimids... |

People who think that cavemen and dinosaurs actually co-existed in real life. They need to get out more! |
