People still saying modern reptiles are the direct descendants of dinosaurs like T.rex. Come on!

Few popular misconceptions, some fueled by media:

  • All dinosaurs died out. No descendants. They're dead. Because they were too stupid to survive. Humanz iz da best.
  • Crocodiles are the only remaining dinosaurs.
  • Crocodiles, testudines and lizards are the only remaining dinosaurs.
  • Sharks are the only remaining dinosaurs.
  • Dinosaurs died because of the latest glacial age.
  • T.rex evolved into chickens.
  • Pterosaurs evolved into birds.
  • Humans (and mammals in general) evolved from dinosaurs.

    • I just can't even...

[*] Humans (and mammals in general) evolved from dinosaurs.
wait, there's someone that really thinks that ? I mean, seriously, and not as a joke like I am so kewl because I evolved from Rexy ?

btw you forgot:

[*] all pterosaurs, Dimetrodon, plesiosaurs and other marine reptiles were dinosaurs.

Obviously Varaniidae, that's how is named the family of lizards within which there is the Komodo dragon, survived many series of changes. This species has distinguished around 5 milion years ago, but the genus was there for 40 milion years, and dinosaurs, from which it descends, lived 200 milion years ago.

You know from where does this comes? It's from this month's National Geographic.

The fact that whenever I draw a pterodactyloid at school, my classmates always mistake its tail for its p****. Why is everyone so sick-minded???

Your restoration of Spinosaurus is possibly the best I've ever seen, Sheather.

My teacher was ready to kill me every time I corrected him when we went over our Paleontology section in Honors Science. XD

But at least my classmates now know that Tyrannosaurus rex wasn't the largest theropod. B-)
